Default Looking for 5AT owner (with LSD) who wants to swap final drives. (3.35 -> 3.53)

Topic pretty much says it all. Best would be a lcoal swap, as we could have both done at once. If shipping is involved, I will offer to ship first, as I have other transportation...

Let me know!

I am going to of course piggyback this and say I want to do the same thing. If you read this thread, Skidz gets the first volunteer.

Faster acceleration and probably a higher top speed since you can utilize more RPMs (power) in high gear (4th or 5th).

this may sound confusing at first, since the "RPM limited" top speed will be less... but the gearing gives you more HP to overcome the "Drag limited" top speed (which is what you will encounter first!)

Yeah, the higher numerically, but lower gearing gives you more acceleration and lower top speed.

This is what he was saying might sound confusing. You are correct generally, but since most cars are drag limited without the electronic limiter, they are not RPM limited (meaning they do not hit redline before they run out of power). Usually a car will run out of power to overcome drag before they reach the end of the tach. A higher number/lower gear in this case will provide better acceleration AND a higher top speed (until you run out of revs - need mucho power).

this would be the swap of the whole rear pumpkin. all the labor needed it to remove the driveshaft, the axles, and the exhaust (to get to the pumpkin). thats it. this is not a change of the gears, just the final drive.
