Question 2004 ECU and SAFC-II question

Does anyone with the wacky 2004 ECU have a SAFC-II installed on their 350Z or G35?

I've been following the Technosquare 2004 reflash thread for ever now and I am not comfortable sending them my ECU at all. I've been told that the SAFC-II actually "taps into the stock ECU" and was wondering if anyone has tried this with a 2004 ECU???

Any help I can get would be appreciated... BTW, I'll be running; intake, Crawford Plenum, Crawford Headers, RT Cats, JIC Y-Pipe (and maybe a fujitsubo exhaust).

I'm convinced that I'll need more fuel and really could use some advice... TIA

Darnit. I've searched and searched and haven't found anyone that can confirm whether or not the 2004 model ECU's can have the SAFC-II wired in w/o any problems.

Does anyone know this info? I've called the local shop that sells them and they're supposed to get back with me (still waiting)...

i know a couple people have it installed.... dunno if they work well in them though... another path u could take would be to get the greddy emanage.... i dunno if that works w/ 04 ecu either though

You really don't need to dump more fuel with that setup. I mean, moe fuel and proper tuning will help gain a little more power, and run a tad more effecient, but with that setup it's nothing "bad" for the motor, you're not going to blow it or anything if thats what you are thinking.
As for the SAFC, some people I know have used it, but in all honesty, they don't work IMO. The reason is, no matter what year ECU yo uhave in your Z, our ECUs are very stuborn with tuning of any sort, including piggyback computers. There are plenty of people that have the SAFC on their Z and it really doesn't help. Some have had good luck with it. But there is honestly nothing that you can do to the stock ECU as of right now that is 100% proven to work. end of story. I say this all they time, reflashes are the same, it works for some and not for others. There's no 100% garantee that ANYthing you do to the ecu will work for you. Or for how long. This even goes for the piggyback systems for FI kits.
