try pulling the cable of those sensors and you shall see the difference in terms of power

those little things do have effect on car even during idle which causes the rough idle of our cars imo

Yeah... I found that link sometime last week. Keeping an eye on his updates as well.
First one to release an update is the winner.

As I've said before, I have the 350z portion ready, but I'm still working on some other BIG requests, some dating as far back as the first release! Trust me, the wait will be worth it!

Jason,

I read on a WRX board that the next update may support the Zeitronix wideband that goes with their AF-2 data logger and LCD display. Is that true?

Did you already specify an ETA? (sorry if I missed it - this thread is getting long).

Thanks!!!

Yes, the upcoming version 3.0 will support Zeitronix's ZT-2 WideBand meter. As well as a the TechEdge and PLX Devices meters.

No date is set for the next release yet, but it will be soon, I am still working on upgrades...

That's great! I've got the Zeitronix wideband meter. So, does this mean that the tuner reg pro isn't required for datalogging a/f, if we already have a wideband meter? Can the UTEC set target a/f like the EU?

Jason,
Any chance on getting a beta copy of the Z release? I have been trying to get the EVO version to work with my AEM and still no luck. I tried a new cable and verified the AEM serial data stream via Hyperterminal. It seems to work great. The stream is flawless and continuous but when I try with your software it stops logging A/F after about 30 seconds or so. SOmetimes it never even starts.
One thing I am wondering is if you force a specific baud rate or anything? It seems to only work at 9600 baud.

I hope a VTC control option is being worked on if it's not too much.

I'd definately give out my donation if this will be done.

I would guess more on the lower RPM range, as fail safes typically default towards low speed 'safe mode' driving. Just a guess though.

One other simple mod that would be REALLY nice to have would be the ability to LOAD a Log Map. Right now the software allows you to save the log map but there is no way to reload it and view it in the nice colored 2x2 (rpm x Load) layout.

That would be cool.

well so far I have tried mps_uteclogger, UTI, and was hoping for the UTEC Tuner 2005 from that guy in MD but none of them have panned out. They all look like they have decent functionality but none of them have worked with my AEM UEGO wideband reliably.

I think that the problem with the wideband may be the baud rate. The UTEC wants to work at 19200 baud only and the wideband only wants to work at 9600 baud. So close yet so far!

I wish one of these packages was open source so I could make it work!

I don't think the problem is in the software. Everything works perfect on my laptop, and I'm using teh AEM UEGO at 9600 baud. It sounds like you may have some serial port conflicts or something along those lines. Have you tried connecting to the UTEC through hyperterminal on one port and connecting to the AEM through hyperterminal on your other port? They should both run without any problems. If they do have problems you'll know its your laptop, not the software. I haven't had a seconds worth of trouble using the MPS_Utec software. Well, I take that back, the only problems I have is when I dissconect the devices while the logger is still running, it doesn't seem to like that!

Have you verified if your AEM UEGO works at 19200?

I have checked them independently but not at the same time with two HyperTerminals. That's a good idea though. I will try that later today. Thanks for the suggestion.

BTW, try the UTI software. It has some pretty nice features.

I don't think the baud rate on the UEGO can be changed. I believe its set at 9600, and 9600 only. At least mine is (mine is an older one that only reads down to 11:1).
