Two simple UTEC questions
Man I love this thing already... can't wait to get the new software release and an AEM wideband hooked up so the process can really start! Have two questions:
1. I am N/A. Should I tune my AFR first and then advance timing until it knocks (then retard until knock goes away) or is timing first?
2. Is there any way the UTEC lets you monitor your engine vitals real-time? It'd be pretty cool to have a laptop running w/ a farenheit screen in the cubby to act as your real-time engine data screen...

afr first then timing
utec does monitor most of the vitals, i do think there is a way to display it, but ofcourse it costs more. i suggest getting that syphon thing or w/e the hell it is that alberto has. Ive seen some cool pics of it.

The dashboard screen displays things like a/f (w/ TX tuner), temps, knock count, maf voltage, timing and so on in real time. There is other interface software out there that was developed for subarus and evo that displays these things as guages on the screen. I haven't really used them, but they might work w/ Z utec.
As for tuning, I left my timing pretty conservartive until I got the a/f in line. It takes a while to get a feel for how the a/f reacts to the changes you make. So, take your time, make small adjustment, and error on the rich side.
Good Luck.
