Default "Unichips For Dummies"

Ok, I understand the purpose of ECU piggyback systems. However, I'm curious to see how people (tuners) know what to enter into the Unichip.

In other words, how do they now what the settings should be with all of my current mods?

Does this make sense?

I have 1) Crawford Cats 2) Borla Exhaust 3) JWT Pop Charger 4) Z-Tube 5) Motordyne 1/2" IsoThermal Spacer

Should a tuner know how to adjust for all of these or are they just taking a stab in the dark?

It has to do with your A/F ratio. A tuner will try and get your A/F ration down to where it needs to be to make the most power with your car. From what i have found with the UTEC your car should make the most power with a A/F around 12.8 to 13.1 until about 5800rpm then richen it up to about 12.5.

All cars are different so your car might make power with less fuel.

i had an unichip in my honda before. I recommend you getting a custom tune if you want one...a pre-tuned chip did not help my car much.

+1 My unichip is tuned with similar AF Map starting at 12.8

I recommend you go find a good tuner, especially the ones who's already worked on the z, previously.
