Default Turbonetics and Unichip!!!????

Say it aint so Joe???!!!!! I was reading through the dragsport magazine and saw the turbonetics scion tc turbo kit with unichip. you mean to tell me with all the negativity thrown towards aps and their use of unichip, t-nectics is using it in the scion kit? does that also mean that the 350z 1.5 kit will have injectors and a unichip? that my friends is what i call karma!!!!

NO no no... lol they havn't decided for engine management for stage 2 or 1.5... and I doubt it will be unichip... I actually think it will be along the lines of a system like the motec... who knows ask MIAPLAYA he knows.

First of all the Unichip used in the Turbonetics Scion Tc kit is the new generation Unichip not the DOS based tuning ancient unichip. Secondly the reflash vs the Unichip was the argument. Everyone said the reflash was no good and couldn't be used as a turn key system and the big issue I had with the Unichip is you had to go to an APS authorized dealer to tune it. If you read the Unichip data for the Tc kit you dont have to go to an "authorized" dealer to have it tuned. Anyone can tune it even via a Pocket PC using bluetooth. That being said Turbonetics still hasn't even announced what they are going to use and I can tell you that they are trying out a LOT of different EMS for Stage 1.5

Wow, mia, didn't know it was like that!!! i was just telling you what i saw. it doesn't take a genius to put together that if the scion is using the next gen unichip, that odds are the turbonetics kit for the 350z will too. thats hot that anyone will be able to tune the newer system but i'd rather leave the tuning on my ride to the professionals. APS AND TURBONECTICS UNITE!!!!!

I don't know about the unite part but yeah I have seen the software and newer Unichip and I have to give to them, its pretty damn bad@ss. I think everyone who does get tuning done takes it to a tuner anyway. The beauty of the one in the Scion kit though is that it doesn't HAVE to be a "Turbonetics authroized" tuner. I know AAM is not but have successfully tuned several Unichip cars. Sharif is not but I would LOVE to have him tune my car. See where this is going? That was my biggest gripe was that to dyno tune the car you had to drive all over the country to get it tuned if you didn't live near an "authorized" tuner even if there was one around the corner from you. Not to mention this new Unichip is freaking bad@ss I have to say it. Regardless if Turbonetics ends up using that or one of the other two EMS's they have been testing I would still back the new Unichip. You can log onto it via a Bluetooth connection from your pocket pc and see real time correction factors, engine data, make trim adjustments, etc. Its pretty freaking bad@ss if you ask me...but like I said we'll see. Turbonetics has 3 EMS's they are deciding between.

So the new unichip software could theoretically be used to tune any turbo system?

Does the "new" Unichip offer complete timing control and injector scaling, ala UTEC?
