Question UTEC & Walbro Fuel Pump?

I was wondering if I should pick up a Walbro Fuel Pump since I will be tuning with the UTEC? Also would you guys suggest a wideband? I know my dyno shop has one to tune with. My current mods are in my sig as well as dynosheets. I’m also considering on purchasing a cat-back exhaust. Anyone with a knowledgable answer, Thanks!!!

I was messing around with my UTEC and set the max voltage for the MAF to 5 to see where it would put me with my A/F. By doing this i noticed it dropped my a/f into the 9's. Thats with all the mods i have.

I realy dont think it would be needed anytime soon with what you have. Maybe with heads and cams, but then i still dont think you would need to have a bigger fuel pump. ONce you go Forced Induction then yes.

Hope this helps

Up to you. If your data logging you will see if you have knock or not. And depending on where you have your knock count set, you will feel if you have knock. The UTEC will retard timing which will result in a power loss around the knock. I personally dont see a need for a knock light NA, but FI i would consider it.

If you want to be able to tune your own car you will need the Wideband. When data logging it will place your A/F ratio in the far right column. I think it is a must if you are going to buy the Utec.

I was checking out the TurboXS widebands. Do you suggest/recommend one over the other. Or would you suggest and different brand one?

Robert_K, i think any wideband will be sufficient with an NA setup. however, for me, i ordered the TurboXS wideband for one reason.

as aceman said above, the TXS widebands can be connected inline with the UTEC so that when you datalog from the UTEC you get your AFR included with all the other data. this simplifies the tuning since you will see the AFR right next to your fuel and timing values. it should make it easier to see where your AFR is out of whack and how your fuel changes affect it

my TXS wideband and remote selector switch are in, i'm just waiting for the UTEC which is apparently still on backorder at TurboXS. i'm only planning on one map right now since i'm still NA, but i'm thinking for the future.

I went with the (Tuner REG System, VW O2 sensor (Tuner-VW) you can also buy the Tuner-Bosch (Tuner-Bosch). About $80 difference in price between the two. They say the Bosch is a more accurate sensor. Im not sure how much of a difference there is between the two though.

So the difference between the VW and Bosch is the sensor. What the difference/ advantage between the Tuner Pro-Bosch and the Tuner Bosch?

i think the "Pro" version adds a few extra features like knock amplification, so you can plug in headphones and listen for knock.

This is true...A feature most used by those who will do their own tunning, or the pros..

For n/a Tuning the Tuner regular will be fine.If your going to do F/I tuning then the additional feature of the Knock extra knock sensor and headphone jack will come in handy.
