Default No BS correction Dyno Jet numbers...

As you all know, there has been a long standing debate on dyno types and corrections...And from now on as Shariff has done, we will no longer use the 1.13 correction to simulate Dyno Jet numbers...The reason being is that my car made over 600 whp consistantly on our dyno employing this method, 673 to be exact..Well we discovered that the correction as well as the atmospheric correction is bull s h i t and we will no longer even use the Atmospheric correction..We discovered that the battery on our weatherstation was going dead and we were getting a barometer reading of 23.30, well needless to say we are at sealevel and this barometer reading in our dyno led to a 1.42 correction of the atmospheric corrections, which is abnormal, and lead us to believe we were making 670 whp when in fact we were making much less...
We went to a local dyno jet today, who we have used in the past to confirm all our results, and here is the verdict..
Last year run #14 was street gas tuned at 14 psi on the utec..
Run #16 was today on my street gas map at about 14-15 psi
Run#17 was my race gas map at 14.5 psi
Run#18 was race gas map at 15 psi
For some odd reason , we can not get the actuators to hold more than a steady 15 psi..We will go back in and tighten the actuator arms and shoot for a solid 18 psi..
Let this be a lesson to all of you, as it is one to me..I will eat my slice of humble pie and settle in withg my 560/510 TQ with no BS corrections and on a real live Dyno Jet regardless of what our MOON DYNO says..
Falme suit "ON"

nice work - there's nothing wrong with those numbers, and once you turn it up you'll be in the 600 range no problem...

I just wish more people on the boards would back their numbers up on a dyno jet and post them instead of leaving corrected numbers in their sig..

WHy not just post the numbers with NO correction to DynoJet numbers and leave it at that . And then if you feel like you need to compare with every one else , put the car on a DynoJet . Even if you do that...DynoJets still have a wide range of numbers from one to the other

Even of you back up you numbers , as you state . DynoJet numbers are not the same from one to the other . So you really cant compare numbers at all . Unless of course we all get on the same dyno the same day .

Dynos are a tuning tool first and foremost... There maybe some differences between DynoJets, but you're talking small %...

When it comes to tuning, I'd take a Dynapack or DynoDynamics over a DynoJet - but this is just from my personal experience...

+1 The Dyno Dynamics we use is hands down the best one for tunning out there..Im not fond of the dyna packs and pulling off wheels, with water hoses running to the pods, ect, ect...

Only good to compare your increases on your car . But to compare to other dyno's...yes I believe it is useless to try to compare one car on any dyno to another car on another dyno....the same type of dyno or not

Nothing I didnt already know, but no BS Julian thank you for doing this, and posting the results regardless. I respect the fact that you did that after all the dyno wars we've been having lately. Once you can hold more boost it will be nasty.

So to recap you trapped 127mph down the 1/4 with 550whp correct?

Yes, taking the wheels off and hooking up the water lines does take aprx 15 minutes on/off for a total of aprx 30 minutes extra... But it takes out wheel slip, strapping an issue (which seems to be a big problem for some shops), tire air pressure and a couple of other benefits...

Either way they are both great dynos, and to say one it 'Best' is probably an personal preference rather than a fact...
