Mike, what is the difference between the AAM reflash and the Technosquare Reflash? You offer both right? My last engine mod will probably be a spacer.

We use the same hardware & software. The flashes are similar but we make our own programs. Becasue we are a 350Z & G35 specialty shop and I dyno 350Z's and G35's all day long, you can't go wrong with our programming

Hope this helps,

That helps immensely. I will just need to arrange a time when I'm up there for business or something after I get the last mod done. I just takes an hour right? I would call ahead of course to make an appointment.

Kemal, I would spend a little more and have the reflash done with the dyno at the same time.

Correct, the standard AAM Spec ECU Flash programming takes about an hour! You can call us at 301.330.8835 opt. 4 and ask for Jason to schedule (or you can e-mail Jason JasonT@alteredatmosphere.com).

Thanks,

You are not going to be done with modding your car. I know someone who told me that about their jetta and they kept modding it. Now that person did get a faster car though

I'd go Utec. In the future you will always want more. I woundn't worry about the rev limit. You don't need to rev that high anyways for there is no power to be made there.

Well I got the reflash and I am quite pleased with it for now. Ha and I say for now because yes eventually in a year from now I will be going vortech most likely but for now the reflash is great. 6th gear power is immensly noticable as is the whole powerband on the car. I had the reflash adjusted for headers and the Mrev plenum and spacer as well which I do not have on the vehicle yet, so I still have power to be had. The rev limit was set to only 7300 just to allow me to not hit a brick wall when shifting @ 7100/72000. But Thanks again to Mike @ AAM and Ill post again once I have the headers, mrev, and spacer.

Thanks! Good to hear everything is working great

For kicks it would be neat to install those components one at a time and do baseline dynos to see what the individual gains are on the 06'.

so If I have almost all the mods I want now except for say headers I could get a reflash that would be optimized for headers as well and it would still give me good gains before I get the headers put on another 6 months to a year down the road?

can the rev limiter and speed limit be changed with the UTEC, or with the reflash alone.

The UTEC cannot change the speed limiter. The UTEC can change the Rev-Limiter on most pre-2005 G35's and 350Z's. The later model G35 and 350Z has a throttle controlled rev-limiter, which the UTEC does not control.

Hope this helps,

You will have a great gain, even with a stock G35 or 350Z!

what I meant was... If I have the spacer, intake, and exhaust now and get the tune with a header factored in will i see a good gain before i actually get the header installed? or should i just get the tune for the mods i have now and get it reflashed again in a year or so when i save enough to install the header

The difference in the tune is very minor w/wo a header, so we can easily dial in the slight fuel for the header and everything will run just great.

When you go with camshafts or forced induction another flash program is then required.

Hope this helps,

Hey sry for the late response to the ? by dwebb, but yes I did feel a nice gain once the reflash was on. Further more I raced my brother who also has a Z (we had identical mods before I did the reflash which were test pipes, exhaust, and intake) and I gained a 2 car lenghts on him. The top end is where you will see the greatest difference.
