It's all in here. Do a search for my name. I think I've posted in every single "UTEC Tip" post.
I also made a reply in a post to Road Warrior recently, describing the basics. That may help get you started.
Above all else, I'd say just read the manual 3 times before the first install. Then once you get everything hooked up (yes there will be a ground attachement from the Map switch's molex plug, and ignore the red wire as it is used to trigger an optional solenoid) and get access to the logging tools, etc, then read the manual a few more times.
By then you will feel much more comfortable about datalogging and tuning, what all the parameters mean, and how to edit maps.
Good luck! The forum is here if you have questions!

BTW, are you FI? I see APS in your mod list. If so, you will need to go to a pro tuner with a dyno for FI tuning. It is a little riskier than NA and not for novices (and the Fuel tuning is a little more complex).

Thought so. Just checkin. Thought maybe the 249 was a baseline and you had an APS kit prep'd to go in, and needed the UTEC to tune. Although with the APS you'd have probably been sold the Unichip.
Glad to hear you are NA. Welcome to a worry-free, fun-filled world of UTEC tuning. :-)

Are you off on thurs.? I'll be back to MacAuto to dial in my Utec tune, I think my injector scaling is off, so my fuel trims are off. Nick says he nows how to change it. I would also like him to spend some time doing a road tune, to try and make it a little more driver friendly.
This time I am going to pay a little more attention to what he is doing so I can make small tweaks in the future.

congrats...there is lots of good info in here. i was able to learn more from watching someone do this vs reading the manual but i do agree that you must read the manual several times before doing anything. that helped me considerably to understand what was going on during the tuning process.
good luck with it

But the first thing you want to do is get use to logging. So log your car now in its stock form to see where your at before you change anything. Post up your log and im sure we can help you out.
