Default How to raise idle with Vortech?

Hey guys, i tried to raise my idle today using the cipher software but my car will not accept the changes...I was told this is likely due to the presence of the vortech piggy back. So how the hell am i going to raise my idle?

the piggy back shouldn't affect it.

I have only heard of reflashed ECUs not being able to work with the Cipher.

If all else fails, drill a small hole in your throttle body. It does work, though!

That's strange, because I am looking at the Cipher V1.03 owners manual, and on page 12, it shows that you can.

Hey Jared at UpRev...can you comment on this.

Thanks,
Joe

again, many 04 models, you cannot raise the rev limiter. This is a known thing.

Everyone is correct, the Cipher is a great tool but it does not raise the idle on the 2004.5's. The idle can be raised through an ECU Flash such as this http://www.alteredatmosphere.com/mm5...y_Code=350Z_EM .

Hope this helps,

Yes, it is a known thing. My question is should 2004.5 Cipher owners have to pony up for a reflash if they bought it to raise their idle RPM?

Why shouldn't they? Only makes sense if they want to raise their idle they get a reflash since uprev does not have the software released to do that yet.

Try increasing the Value the 1000rpm row, between 18-24 in of vac, in MAP A (FUEL) of your SS Box. Say if your at 9.8. try 9.9 and keep increasing in till your idle smooths out. the problem is not the idle speed but how Stable your idle is, that is asuming your idle is set at 650+ rpm. Is your Idle stable? When you drive hard and then slow, shift into Neutral, does the RPM Dive down way below 650rpm? What is your setup again? Show a Pic of your MAP A.
That being said: increasing the idle to say 750 works well, but you must Stablize the Idle with the correct short/long term fuel trim.
let me know if this works for you........

Do you guys mean the cipher doesn't raise idle for 04.5 only or 04.5+ years? Because it worked on my 06' Z.

It must be 04.5 only because clearly 05 works too.

Ya, won't work only with the 04.5, I got an idle only re-flash to 1100, it is soooo much better, no more stalls at lights, I can now dump the gas from a high rev and the new set 1100 rpm will catch it.
This also smoothed out the vortech big time at idle.
