Been working on my own data logger to help me tune my engine, progress is good ...



If someone can send me some logs of #1 logger with a TXS tuner pro, that would be awesome as I have the innovate LC/XD ...

I also want to do a limited alpha version to test compatibility so if you want to try it, please send me a msg and I'll get you a version / work out any problems ....

How did you make this program?

 

I'm using Visual Studio 2005 in c#, all of the grids and graphs are custom code. As are the serial connections to the utec and wideband.

I'll probably be working on the cell mapping stuff tonight along with per element colour coding ...

Hah..I'm waiting on VS w/ C# as well for exactly this... it is on the way to me.

Put me on your alpha/beta/etc test list. I want to try this sucker (and help develop it, any way I can!)

I'll have to have a look to see if I can import logs from Cipher as I also have that ..... only problem though is that external wideband might be a problem...

All you guys that are doing these custom apps/front-ends... Why don't you make it open source? Put the code on sourceforge or some other repository. Or hell, if you've got a decent connection, just downlost cvs-nt and host it yourself.

I'd love to get involved in something like this. And I'm strong in c#. But I don't have a unit, though I'm sureit wouldn't be difficult to build in a mock data layer.

"Mock data layer"... I have thought that a "UTEC Simulator" would be quite cool. Maybe for training purposes. Maybe use something like the Cipher to log typical conditions over time then use averages across those logs, along with a randomizing function, to "simulate" live-road conditions and then "emulate" a UTEC in the software. The user could then learn how to trim fuel and spark maps using this simulated environment.

So many possibilities!

 

nice, i see a graph in the backround too. is that something you can plot on the graph...such as a/f vs rpm/load/etc?

i know you can do it in the logger...but can't transfer that graph to the pc unless you do a screen shot.

Currently the graph is time on the x axis and samples on the y, I can totally make each of the axis configurable.

Also, I would really like to get some logs from boosted z's so that I can make sure that everything is working, I am of course logging a bunch of data from my g (greddy tt, 16 psi) but a greater sample of data will ensure that everything is working well.

Yeah, no problems, I still may need to put in a millisecond delay option to allow fine tuning of the syncing of WB and EMU signals but it looks good so far ...

I'll probably start doing an alpha version in a couple of weeks ...

Ok, 3d map view done, looks like I need to smooth out a couple of spikes in my fuelling ....



Now I need to work on the importing of those data logs ...

As one of the benefits of the 3d view, I tuned a rather spikey tune into a silky buttery smooth tune



There were definately a couple of rich spikes that I could feel as I drove around, I'll let you all know how this new map feels tomorrow ...

Did you use a smoothing function that you could output as fuel offset or inj pulse settings directly in your map? Or is this the visual representation of manual smoothing? Either way, very good job... and the visuals help to evaluate the progress.

Does this sucker work for MAF yet? :-)

 

Doesn't the mps_uteclogger perform a similar function? i was actually hoping someone had gotten a zeitronix wideband to work w/ the utec...

 

This is a direct visualization of the injector pulse widths per cell.

This was manual smoothing, I'll have to have a think about auto-smoothing at some point, not a real priority right now ...

I'm gonna be working on MAF stuff soon

BTW I got log importing working yesterday, works like a treat

 

It will do so much more that mps-uteclogger.

I'll have a look into the zeitronix ... (actually I've just fired them a mail to see how they can help me help you)
