The UTEC changes the AFM signal, right? Don't forget to check after a few weeks (8-12) if the gains are still there. The ECU migh fight the new A/F ratios by its long-term A/F correction!

You change the afr useing the utec. The stock ecu should'nt change anything.

Robert,

If you are self-tuning, then go for it. Your gains using 100 octane will be fairly minimal in my opinion. But you should be able to advance timing anywhere from 6 - 8 degrees from your 91 octane map.

I'm well documented on this site that my n/a tuning was highway robbery.

I will never do business of any sort with that shop again.

How? Doesn't it interupt the AFM signal to the ECU and sends a modified (false) signal into the ECU in order to get the desired change in injector pulse width? If it works in this way the ECU will fight the changes by it's long term fuel trim using feedback from the O2 sensors.

The UTEC have direct control to the injector and ignition pulses, the ECU will fight , but can´t do any change...........

I would not do the 100 octane map, unless I had another mod installed. Why dont you try to find a used exhaust on here OR pick up an MRev2??

That sounds good - is this info 100% confirmed? Is there any in depth documentation about the UTEC online available?

Well I think I'm going to pass on the 100 octane tune. I'm just going to do three pulls to load my AFR onto my UTEC maps since we didn't have my Tuner WB working when we tuned last time. Sorry I was really looking forward to test the 100 octane fuel. Maybe next time.

Just do what I do, and mix in a few gallons of 100 octane to add a margin of safety on an otherwise aggressive pump-gas tune. forget going *****-out and making a pure 100 octane map... kinda impractical

it has it's own injector and ignition drivers, as such, the changes are constant.

Thanks! That what everyone tells me. Glad I just bought the APS test pipes vs a whole cat-back.

Maybe some of you can reassure me of this but isn't important if you plan to be dynoing your car repeatedly (testing mods as you add) to dyno with the same dyno. I've always heard that no two dynos are the same, due to set up and operator practices. It seems like it would cause less headaches trying to figure out what you did to get your sudden gain/loss in power from the last dyno session.

I see everyone throwing dyno #'s around but only few of them list what dyno the were on.

I've always dynoed at the same dyno for that reason. So yes, try to dyno at the same shop.

this is true if you are using speed density mode, which is used by all the FI guys and only a couple NA guys, BUT if you are NA using open loop like 98% of the NA guys are, the timing is actually an exact figure put in but the fuel table is just an offset of the stock ecu. sooooooooo yes your tune can change if you have a utec. not the timing side, but the fuel side of it...
