Default '05-'06 ECU in a '03?

Would an '03 run better with the newer 05 or 06 ECU?

I was talking to a guy who has a newer ECU in his car and was wondering whether or not it would help, or hurt his hp and tq.

Thanks

Im not sure the immobilizer would allow that. That is, unless someone can re program it.

Assuming it would allow it, would the hp and tq increase or decrease?

What would make you think an ECU designed for a totally different engine would work in an 03? The 05-06's have variable timing on both intake and exhaust cams.Completely different ECU's and part #'s.

That's exactly the answer I was looking for, thanks. I didn't know it was a "totally different engine" with "completely different ECU's", that's why I asked.

Also a MT and a A/T are different part #s. And once an ECU is powered up in a car it marries to that key and will not start a different car unless you deporgram the imobilizer with the nissan consult tool.
