Default UTEC First Start Rough Idle and Solution

Just thought I would share an issue that I ran into with the first start-up of my Z. I just installed a Turbonetics ST with UTEC, JWT Flywheel, Clutch, exhaust, return fuel system, etc...

Loaded the base parameters and map from TurboXS and couldn't get the car to idle. Ran super rough.

We read the CEL codes and found a CAM Shaft Position Sensor flag.

Once we took the sensor out and cleaned it the car ran perfectly.

Just thought I would give the group a heads up in case anyone experienced this.

My car is a 2004 roadster.

I'll try to get a picture of the sensor location for you. Literally it was a simple wipe down of the sensor. Very easy to deal with.

Sorry, I couldn't get a picture today. But the Crank Position Sensor is at the rear of the bell housing. The sensor fits into the bell housing and picks up the crank position off of the flywheel. I hope this helps!

Sorry, I didn't save the actual code. It was a crank position sensor error. I'll see if my mechanic saved the #.
