Default will i need to retune?

hey guys
so a few days after i tuned my car rased the timeing and had it runing a little leaner then factory i got good numbers 370whp.
to make a long story short and skip all my mods and the problems with the car and the shop lets move on.

My main question is my car wouldnt start nor did any of the power options work 2 days after tuning. i went to the dealership as i could not find the problem and they replaced the bcu ( body control module).
after doing this do i need to tune again? is tuneing the reason i needed a new bcm?
have any of u had this problem. cause the dealership told me the car dosnt like to get played with and that when they put the new bmc in it would have restored my factory setings? is this true or right.
please some one must know. what the bcm even dose?
