Default Help installing TXS Tuner kit

I have juste received my Tuner kit, and I can't imagine how install it. I know that I have to install the O2 sensors on the drivers side, but I can't imagine how pass the cable inside, and where install the display box.

Please, if any of you have it installed, give me some help here in Spain no one have ever seen a ZUTEC

There is a rubber grommet on the passenger side behind the battery - remove all the plastic push pins and plastic covers and you'll see it.. You can use either passenger or driver side pre-cat bung (on test pipe or hfc) for the O2 sensor. Run the wire away from "hot" piping. I think I brought mine up along the rear coolant line and into the battery compartment, then through the rubber grommet (where you would draw a power line for a stereo in the trunk, for example). When you punch through be careful not to hit the stock ECU wiring. I used needle nose pliers because then you can "separate" the jaws and make room to pass something through. Seal with silicone. Most just put the box down in the passenger footwell somewhere.

Good luck.

Thanks a lot for your help rcdash...do you think that a stereo power line is enought for the power supply of the O2 sensor?

I was thinking maybe passing the cable through the hole of the shift, it would be allraight? or better to pass it throught the battery compartiment?

The O2 sensor is powered by the tuner - and the cables are already provided.

Not sure what you mean when you say "stereo power line"...

The grommet behind the battery was designed for wires to pass through and is what most people use. I have never heard of anyone going through the transmssion shifter grommet. As long as it seals properly, should be fine I guess...

EDIT: if you're asking where to draw power for the tuner, then I think I would draw power off of an existing O2 sensor relay using a fuse tap. I think this is located in the driver side footwell. The key is to have power during cranking and not use the accessory power lines as that drops to 0 during cranking. You need to get a hold of the fuse diagram or service manual to do this right... I think this site has the manual posted somewhere...

So my best bet for draw the power for the tuner is from another OEM 02 sensor, it makes sense for me...I have read something about draw power from the fuel pump relay.

I will have to look to the electrical diagram then.

The fuel pump relay is nice because it gets energized through cranking and also when the engine is running obviously. I actually think I tapped this relay for the tuner and I tapped the O2 sensor relay for my a-pillar gauges as it was closer and more convenient.

There is something else I can't quite recall... I know you don't want the O2 sensor heated for too long prior to cranking - to prevent sensor shock from cold vapor hitting a hot sensor - maybe that's why I used the fuel pump relay. With the key in the "ON" position (about to crank) but the engine "OFF", the fuel pump relay turns on momentarily to charge the fuel pump, then turns off. This effectively prevents the O2 sensor from getting too hot. Not too sure but I don't think the stock O2 sensors are wired this way (unfortunately). So (I think) if you left the key in the "ON" position, your stock O2 sensors would be heating up. If you waitied too long, then cranked, you'd be shocking those sensors...

I could be remembering wrong - going from my memory of the wiring diagrams...

I'm going to look for the fuel pump relay then...I had already located the fuse of the stock O2 sensors, but I think that the fuel pump will be better.
