Default ECU controll box...Would this thing actually work??

I keep seeing these things on ebay and ill tell you i am curious if you can get any HP gain with these little things

*Note i am not saying go buy this*

but this is what i am looking at

I am super skeptical as to it working....but hey cheep HP why not??

I wouldn't trust it to feed the ECU accurate information. All it does is modify the IAT sensor input.

if you think it would be that easy. don't you think everyone would have done this by now?

If people are serious about putting that crap in a Z, then they dont deserve to drive it.

My first step here is to defend myself, in no way am I saying that i want this for my car because there is no way that it could actually sit in there with no ill-effects. Second, i was merely seeking an opinion from those, who i am hoping, are in the know with this sort of technical idea. Turning my question into something rude like that shows a lot of good character toward a fellow Z owner.

If i come off as rude, sorry. Use common sense and re-read your first post.

If it's too good to be true, it probably isn't.

There are companies investing thousands of dollars into R&D and time to tune the ECU. Considering it took close to 6+ months of R & D development for Technosquare to come out with the first ECU reflash program, i think it would take just as long for hardware development to design a box (such as the Utec or Emanage) to do what that Ebay box claims it can do.
