I think a UTEC can adjust the rev limit on a non-revup G or Z. I don't think the UTEC will change the RevUp's rev limit because it needs to stop the fuel and throttle body. I'm almost positive that UTEC's don't have the capability to manipulate the drive-by-wire throttle assembly.

You can flash the stock ECU. Actually, that's the only thing you would flash... technically, you also flash a stand-alone's EEPROM when you upgrade the firmware, but I don't think this is what the poster above means...
JB is correct! UTEC can only control rev limit on "non-revup" VQ35s; UTEC CANNOT adjust the idle on any of the motors.

Reviving this thread. Another related question: is it possible to retain the factory (ECU) rev limit when I use the open loop fueling and NOT have the UTEC control it? If so, how?

Thanks!

Sure, just don't change the rev limit setting.

You can leave the Openloop fueling at 0 which means its off or if you want open loop fueling set the rev limit to stock RPM.

Hey guys I've been looking at buying a chip for a while now and I haven't figured out the best path. All I have is HKS exhaust and CAI. Which route will give the best results: reflash ecu? or buy a chip like unichip or turboxs? Also what are the prices for an ECU reflash? Thanks
