Default MRC and another Great tune, Turbonetics single.

We got to tune "Boggie" aka the "OTHER Z MEDIC" car yesterday. He had a really nice set up that consisted of a Turbonetics single Water cooled turbo with an upgraded 40mm open dump Wastegate and custom 3" turbo back exhaust!! This thing was LOUD!!! So loud, the owner kept walking farther back from the car after each Dyno pull..

The car had a lower WG spring in there and was running off WG pressure only, but we experienced a weird BOOST CREEP issue after 5000rpms, where the boost would go from 5psi to about 8 psi at redline. The car also was out of injector at 6000rpms at about 8psi where it was making over 400whp which would have been 470 ish to the crank.

All in all the car made good power, but needs to upgrade to the 550cc injectors for his power level and address the boost creep issue...

Julian I hope you don't mind my sharing pics of Boogie's build.

His project started with his clutch and flywheel transformation. The clutch job was done about 1-2 weeks before the turbo install to allow adequate time for the clutch to break in properly.
Here is Boogie himself clearing the way for the tranny to come out:

The tranny separate from the car:

Boogie is a bit of a ham. Check him out finding out he had the good CD009 Tranny:

I Love My Tranny!

Here is what we came to accomplish...get out the OEM clutch and Flywheel:

This is whats going in...ACT ProLite Flywheel:

And ACT CLUTCH:

Flywheel Installed;

Clutch and Pressure Plate Installed:

Tranny back in its rightful home:

Next task at hand was to remove the oil pan and make room for the AAm Oil Pan spacer:

Clean thoroughly and install:

Voila:

Here is the port for the oil return:

Here is Boogie's custom 3" exhaust:

This custom bracket worked out pretty well;

Aside from welding up a couple of open spots the exhaust worked out pretty OK:

Injectors were no problem with the plug and play connectors:

Only trouble we had was with the power steering lines which were in the direct path of the up-pipe provided by Turbonetics. With some quick think and a little improvisation...we made do with what little we had:

And yes, the useless little ear/corner ofg the engine was taken off to help make some space too:

It all worked out well in the end.

WOW i lost like 5 pounds in those 2 weeks.
i would like to thank Randy (the original zmedic) for the patience and time on the install and Julian @MRC for the awsome tune. the car is running awsome trying to shift at 6krpm. open dumps are scary loud and i couldnt help but to step back during the tune. i realy wish i had the 550cc injectors for the tune but i thought 440cc were going to be good enough. as for the boost creep i dont know what could be recommended other than to work with it. 8psi is not a horrable boost due to the standard turbonetics coming around that same psi stock. (im no expert and i could be wrong). as for future plans are to get 550 cc injectors and a water/meth injection kit to keep the temps down and increase the knock/detonation threshold. as for the waterlines i dont remember blaming anyone but i did mention Randy and i did the install. guys with 06-revup motors dont be scared to tackle this install only a couple of things need to be done to the actual kit itself (hopefully i can make a complete different thread for this install).
to sum it all up Julian Thanks again for taking me in at the last minute and spending the entire portion of the afternoon to tune my car.
