Newb Question about Utec and WB
Probly a newb question but need to know if I need to spend some more $$$
Did a little searching and haven't found the answer to my question...closes thing was people saying to get the TXS Tuner
I am getting a Utec soon and I have a 2004.5...
... but I have read that the 2004.5 and up come with Widebands stock.
But my question is, If my car comes stock with Wideband's then will the Utec read these and log them or will I still need to get the TXS Tuner?
Sorry if this is a repost!
P.S. I did search!

Even though your car may have wideband sensors, the UTEC doesn't tap into the computer to get these readings. Like they said above you will want to get a wideband controller and have another o2 sensor welded up in your HFCs. The AEM and LC-1 come with Bosch o2 sensors, and you can use software like MPS_logger and UTI to merge the UTEC logs with the wideband readings. Or you can spend the money to get the TXS Tuner so that you won't need any sofware to merge the two. Check out the sticky in this forum, "UTEC Upgrade", for more information on that.

you have to pay first before you can download... click UTI and underneath there is pay button and then you'll get an email were you can logon and download the software...

I tried to use UTI..... But for whatever reason, it wouldn't stay synched with UTEC. I'm thinking it got out of synch because UTI is polling the factory 02 sensors, which are controlled by the ECU, then tries to insert those values into the UTEC log in real time... But in my case it was always a little behind. So the AFRs would be out of synch with the rest of the log.
Now I just tune with the TXS Tuner + UTEC from the native data logs. The raw data dump isn't as pretty as UTI, but still works well.

Ive been using the UTEC logger for my full throttle pulls, its just as good as the UTI. The UTI AFR tables spread sheet is ver usefull for the part throttle tuning. I can manipulate the throttle to hold 2psi or 4 psi all the way up to redline and the UTI table makes it very easy to make the adjustments.

maybe you guys can help. I have my utec and tuner installed. I can read my AFR on the tuner and the utec works fine. My question is when I have the utec main screen up I can not see my tuner. Any suggestions, maybe something I am doing wrong. I have the tuner plug into the utec through the serial connections.
