utec issues with battery hookup
I'm trying to load a map on my utec using a 9v battery. I'm finding that I can get to the menu, but then after about 90 seconds it just freaks out and shuts down, then it wont start back up unless I unplug it and let it sit, as if its over heating.
anyone else have this problem?

this thing is driving me crazy.
if I go to load a map it gets to around 15-20% then just stops, then sometimes it goes back to the main menu and shows weird letters or it stays where its at and random letters $knbbbkdmw#$# go across the screen.
The picture attached is what happened at 19% while uploading a map.

I had the same problem with data garbage on my Tuner and seeing certain menu options, but not others, random crashes etc - when I first got it. In my case the firmware somehow got corrupted. So I reflashed it with a current .mot from TXS, and viola - fixed it right up~ No more issues. Reflashing the firmware is pretty painless with the flash utility TXS includes.

First battery was bad, 2nd batter was a name brand battery and it wouldn't stop working at random, however from the issues with the first battery crashing midway though loading a map, I had to reflash the whole thing and reupload the software and then upload another map.
now its working fine.

Great, that's good to hear it wasn't anything bad. At least we know they put that battery disclaimer in the manual for good reason - I didn't think different brands would have that much difference in power.
