Default MRC Motorsports and 1000whp+ tuning....

We got to tune a 1000+whp 8 second car yesterday...However it was not a Z.. It was a mustang equiped with a humungous Procharger blower. This vehicle went 8.90's last season with the old smaller blower at about 875whp, this new blower will make well over 1000+whp. Our Domestic Tuner, Andrew Barrale formerly of Larocca's racing, tuned the vehicle previously, and now began its new tuning session. We rean into an issue with the car not accelerating past 6500rpms, despite it having an 8700rpm redline We stopped the tunning session at 908whp at 6500rpms, over 2000rpms and 10 psi short of the redline, until the issue with the limiter is fixed...
Enjoy..

figured it was a type of ic. Doesnt CIN have some sort of mustang with a rear intercooler that has a bunch of ducting to it tho?

How efficient is it? Scary to have it pressurized upwards 30psi.

That is a water to air intercooler. Keeps intake temps in the 50-60 degree range..Very Very efficent for drag racing..

Julian..what motor is that?? When I went to the Ford Nationals a few months ago alot of the Mustang guys were running 302's w/SC and boosting around 30-35psi. They were running mid 8's..Can you give out any specs on it...

Tom,

the EFI Renegade cars are running mids 8s now (with smaller "street" blowers, no ICs, and still running a Hydraulic cam)....this car should be capable of much faster times......just looking at what he has.

+1 water to air intercooler. put some dry ice in the tank and temps well below ambient are possible.

Seems odd to plumb the turbo tubing through the firewall and locate the IC in the passenger's seat area.

I wonder why they did that? It can't just be that it makes it easy to fill the IC with dry ice. I don't know how heavy that box is... weight transfer maybe?
