Default Best Engine Management

I was wondering what the best stand alone engine management out is and what your reasons are for picking it.

Hope you have your flame suite on, but I'll give you a starting point.

The top three in my book are the following:

-HKS F-Con V-Pro
-Haltech
-ProEFI

I would just search around the forum, because there has been write ups on all of these computers.

Good Luck

Edit: Dang it Julian.... you beat me to it!

Default Yeah i know

Yeah I expected a ton and I was leaning towards the f-con or haltech but I want to know what is better about the two. Most shops are biased towards what they use. Either way I go it will be better than the split second box...lol

Haltech and FCON appear to be very similar from a design perspective. I liked the maturity and stability and some of the options of the FCON for tuning (use of headphones), but because it was tuner-locked (limited distribution) I bought the Haltech on faith after talking with Sharif about its potential. The Haltech has a nice price point and also has come up with traction control and CAN integration capabilities in its final release, which are very nice recent upgrades from the initial beta. In retrospect, the biggest factor in favor of the Haltech in my mind is the level of support you get from Hal (Injected Performance) for this product. That man is brilliant.

I second this, the Haltech is great, does everything that one would want/need in a standalone- and although I'm not an expert by any means of the FCON, I believe the Haltech has some additional features... not locked, and Hal is the man! Returns my many pestering emails within hours

Hal for president!

I'm not really familiar with the Haltech, I hear good things about it. Does it have Fault management control like the ProEFI system? This seems like a must have feature. The adaptive learning looks really nice too, but the fault management would REALLY help with diagnosing problems quickly, not to mention the ability to save your engine if there is a problem.
