Anyone tuned their UTEC with a Apple Mac? I noticed that my UTEC CD came with USB drivers for the Mac. I have an Apple MacBook and can and do run windows on it just to tune the UTEC but if I could dump windows completely I wouldn't complain.

That's what I thought, so I downloaded a mac hyperterminal program called ZTerm and was unsuccessful with configuring it.

The reason I asked this is because I HATE Windows. It's buggy and annoying and likes to freeze up for no apparent reason. I don't even have any third party software installed, just Windows XP SP2 and I only use it for tuning and it's still really annoying.

what about a hyperterminal version for Linux?
I was thinking about getting one of the new ASUS EEE PC900 mini laptops. You can get it with either linux or windows, but the linux version has a 20GB SSD versus the XP version which has a 12GB SSD....both are $550 for a mini laptop with a 9" screen.

Dunno about the linux route. I'm sure you could tinker away at the Mac hyperterminal emulator till you got it right, but thats alot of work for very little outcome.
We actually looked at the EEE for our Pro Tuners but decided against it as the screen size was way to small. For $550 you can buy an old used 17" windows laptop that will work every bit as well. Here at the shop we have a desk top and a 19" LCD screen on suction cup mounts that attach it to the windshield.

Thanks....I guess I'll stick with what I've currently got.
