Haha it's cool, it was just happening and I haven't had a chance look at the dump files to see what was causing it.
I don't mind Vista. Win 7 right now is pretty buggy but usable.

Hopefully we'll get more feedback on Vista though and see if we can figure out some way to work around the OS a little better. We haven't yet had many reports of issues though that come from our installer.

I did have a serious question though. Do to unseen circumstances, I am using the FCon VPro for my EMS. Would I run into any problems if I switch to aftermarket cams and tune them through Osiris or would this make things screwy?

Thats a Jared question, I won't even claim to know about that.
Sent my logs in and got them diagnosed. Looks like the mixture is too lean, due to a leak in the plenum.
I painstakingly installed the MREV2 and 5/16 and torqued each bolt in the proper sequence using the stepped torgue method, the install seemed to go perfect - yet something is apparently not right. It sounds good and you certainly cannot hear any leaks going on.
I'm thinking about removing the plenum bolts and spacer and using a evenly precise thin layer of silicon gasket sealer on both sides of the 5/16 spacer to ensure a perfect seal, then torque to specs again (and use thread lock on the six center bolts again). Is there any down side to using gasket sealer on the spacer - i just haven't seen any comments about this.
Apparently the leak is so minor that it may be impossible to trace down, so it must be a slight imperfection in the seat, which I'm thinking a thin layer of gasket compound will resolve.
Thoughts on this please?
Thanks.

Log files from Cipher will generally show that it's running lean for a reason. We diagnose it as a leak from the plenum spacer because most people that install them have that issue. They work wonders but allllllll of them are finicky to install. It's easy to remedy and a good place to start when looking for a leak. If you have a spray can of starting fluid you can check for intake leaks by spraying it lightly around suspected leak areas, though we usually don't recommend that old school style diagnostic to people that don't have a fire extinguisher handy
Hmmm... I'm contemplating getting "osiris-ized" soon also
I think I might be running lean. Mods so far are Motordyne spacer, JWT intake, testpipes, and borla td exhaust. Everything was sounding good till the test pipes and exhaust got installed (at the same time). After that I hear a clicking noise when I'm in high gear and floor the gas at around 3k to 5k rpm. I believe that's peak cylinder pressure at those RPMs? The clicking gets faster as the rpms go up and dissapear around there. I used to think maybe I was just hearing the injectors firing, but it could be because I'm running lean. Different brands of gas don't affect this. This only happens when I'm in a high gear for the speed... i.e. in fifth going 35mph. If I was in first or second and floored at at 35... I wouldn't hear any clicking. I know there isn't a leak at the plenum that's the culprit since I already had the spacer installed for a month before installing the testpipes and exhaust at the same time. Only when I installed the testpipes and exhaust, did this 'click' start to happen. I tried to capture it on a camera, but the camera can't pick up the click, it'll just pick up the exhaust note. Revving in neutral... no clicks either... What's your take? Think its running lean and pinging?
Apologies in advance for the super lengthy post

My thoughts:
The ECU doesn't see your modifications as a benefit, it seems them as an error. The more you add, the more error it tries to correct for, and the likelihood of it running rich and/or lean at different RPMs becomes an exponential problem. Thats just how these ECU's work, you can't add parts to the cars now without a tune of some sort. The ECU will fight everything you try to do, and the ECU will win or die trying.
Order an Osiris system, you'll get the cable and a base tune, based on the mods you have so it should be close. From there we can do an eTune and refine your tunes so they work best with your car. Also if we notice anything in the log files we'll tell you that there is something going on that needs to be looked at. You can use Cipher to help diagnose any problems as they arise and before you take your car to a repair shop for work you may not need done.
Over the course of the past weeks, I have confirmed no leakage at the spacer or MREV2 to cause the lean ratios resulting in detonation - everything is installed perfectly. The ratios were on the lean side of the tolerance range (I believe from the factory) and the spacer and MREV2 leaned it even more.
After a couple of logging sessions and ROM updates from Jared (Jared ROCKS!), we are dialing it in bit by bit.
The lean ratios caused detonation immediately following install of Uprev, but that was quickly diagnosed and now we are getting there. The ROM updates show continued improvement and Jared is still working to get it dialed in perfectly.
Just wanted to post the update and publically give koodos and thanks to Uprev and Jared!
This 35th NA will be the best it can be with the existing mods and Jared's expertise. It is surprisingly quick.
PS. I came close to doing the 4.083 FD but haven't yet because much of my driving is high speed commute, it's nice cruising at 90 @ 3500 and I'm afraid the increased RPM at long-term high speed might be annoying - worth it in town and everywhere else though :-) - I'm still seriously considering it though.
I can't wait for the next ROM update!
Thanks again for your continued support and professionalism Uprev!

Nice update... good to here the guys are taking care of you.
I got my Osiris software in also, I've been running my base tune still... But my MPG seems to have gone way down compraed to stock tune, but that needs to be tested further. I could have sworn the computer said i was getting ~ 26MPG on the highway cruising at 65mph... now I seem to get 22mpg according to the little computer.

Check using Cipher to see what the AFRs are running while you're cruising. Did you send in logs yet for an eTune? I know the queue has grown a little bit for eTunes, but we should be able to figure out why you might be losing some fuel economy with the first set of logs.

makes me sad...can't mess w/ suspension or I'll probably get clunks, can't mess w/ ECU or I could lose what little mileage I have. and Engine upgrades rarely give much.....the HFC's already hurt my mileage...not gonna risk screwing it up even more.
Was gonna just drive up the Austin for a quick dynotune by these guys, but something about 4hrs drive each way doesn't appeal to me.
^ lol, you're way worrying too much. Since you can have multiple maps on the car, keep one of the maps stock. I'm using stock map quite a bit still.
UpRev - the AFRs while cruising in the city where approximately the same. I was getting 13.8 - 14.2 while cruising at 40mph on the stock map, and about 13.6 - 13.9 on the economy map. Doesn't seem like a drastic difference. 5AT btw.
I'm waiting on doing the etunes because im swapping out the current set of testpipes for a different set of testpipes in the upcoming week.

Yeah wait to do the eTune till after you get the new pipes in. The whole reason for the eTune is for just this circumstance, the tune sent to you is as close as we can get for a base tune but may not be optimal for your exact vehicle. So we do the eTune to further whittle down the tune to get your car running as well as possible without having to dyno tune it. So hurry up and get those pipes on and submit the eTune request.

Thats the nature of a "flash" which is why we offer eTune. So you DON'T have problems. I don't understand why you're concerned really, it's a pretty simple solution and we're using all stock parts to get there. The only thing you'll need is a wideband if your car doesn't come with it. Still worth the extra money considering the power, driveability and reliability. The widebands helps you keep a better eye on how your car is doing than how the car left the factory, which is why Nissan changed to the wideband in the newer vehicles.
