Here is where it gets even better. This in on my Performance tuned Map. I never switch off that map.

UpRev FTW....

Just so that everyone understands. We hear these kinds of things from many of our customers. We don't quote customers as proof of mileage or power increases though as every vehicle is different. There is no scientific proof of absolute gains, and we'd hate to have a customer expect to get 30mpg or 30hp in their car with just tuning.

All we're doing is allowing your car to achieve what potential it has. If your car can gain 2hp and 0.5mpg with a solid tune over how it runs from the factory, then that's what you'll get out of it and nothing more.

While it may be possible to achieve more gain in the tune by running a vehicle on its ragged edge, we prefer to keep the tunes safe and sane so that you can drive it for many many miles and enjoy it.

I get 20 in the city if I'm really nice to it, but typically more like 18-19
on the road its 28 (most recent trip). was >30 before cats. I have no tune...but I don't have wideband O2 sensors either....so even with a tune, its a shot in the dark. If the gas prices go up much more I'll prolly junk the HFC's in favor of OEM, since the performance gain is so-so at best, and the rasp is kinda annoying

Still worth the extra money considering the power, driveability and reliability. The widebands helps you keep a better eye on how your car is doing than how the car left the factory, which is why Nissan changed to the wideband in the newer vehicles.
Like I said, don't have a wideband, and don't plan on buying one, now if I could tune it, then maybe I'd consider it, but considering I have to have someone else do it all (this lacks the fun factor). I certainly don't want to start screwing with the car, and then get in it one day to goto work, and it not start. This would be ever so irritating as this is my Daily driver. To me, for the money I could do much more fun things...I'll be spending 1k before its said and done for this tune, software, and wideband...what will I achieve? maybe better gas mileage, and maybe better performance...too many maybe's for that much cash. If I lived in Austin I'd set up an appt, and let you guys see what you could squeeze out of it, as I am curious, and I'm confident that ya'll have some skill. But w/o a few hrs on a dyno I don't see huge improvements coming my way. Seeing as the car will never be a LS1 eater, I guess I don't see the point. Having said that I do still want the Osiris/cipher setup, as its freakin cool....but I'm a nervous nancy, also an extreme tightwad.

You spent how much money? and your using the stock map quite a bit? this isn't an issue to you? I fail to understand the logic of "I got a tune, but I still use the stock map a lot." not trying to be a dick, but I really don't get it.

I miss the good ol days when you tuned your own car. My friend has a Turbo miata w/ the Hydra. He does all of his own tuning, now that'd be fun! but all this emailing of tunes, there's no work involved. guess its the easy way out, but slightly boring to me.

EDIT: does it work on a Mac? just out of curiosity. I have both but would like to use my wondermachine.

Well that's "wideband O2 sensors" the difference. I have 06. I really do not here much rasp. I get the 2700 to 3300 RMP Drone. Now that I can not stand when driving down the interstate at 78 Mph. But I do not drive my Z much. I do how ever love that WOT sound. That turns heads.
Well good luck to you. I hope the Cats get your Mpg's back.

There is no maybe to a performance gain, or a mileage gain. I'll reiterate, if you add hardware to the car that is not stock, the sensors will generally read out of their normal range, which sets the ECU off in search of control. Your stock ECU on this car is not like what you're probably use to. If you add a cold air intake, it will change what the MAF sensor reads, and that will lead to under or over fueling, and lead to changes in your timing that are beyond your control.

It's not a lego anymore, you have to adjust the ECU or do some sort of tuning if you change the hard parts of these vehicles. If you don't believe me, just read through the forums.

These cars are not LS1s, Nissan didn't leave that much on the table. These vehicles come fairly well tuned from the factory for the parts they come stock with. You can't just plop on a flash like you can with the Chevys and Fords either. You have to actually adjust per vehicle to net a gain while remaining in a safe zone.

As far as screwing with the car and having it not start one day, what does that have to do with adding O2 sensors?

No we do not have native Mac support, you can use bootcamp and run WindowsXP or Vista, and we've have varied reports of our software working via Parallels or VMWare with Windows on a Mac.

I'm not sure, I may have posted right after that post saying that I'm waiting on getting my 'new' test pipes in next week... before tuning No point in tuning 2 weeks apart.

Thats what I do. I drive it for a while on my Tuned map. Then maybe in two to three months I will collect some data and send it in. Right now I am waiting to install my headers. What PITA that's going to be.

Hey I sent Jared an email earlier this week regarding getting my car back finally with the new ECU and getting another code for my cable. Any chance he got that?

Also I was hoping you guys had put together some documentation regarding FI applications

E-mail me, Jared is on vacation for the week. He isn't even answering his phone (not that he does normally anyway).

nothing to do w/ O2 sensors, everything to do with playing with ECU...I know probably an unreasonable fear.

oh and I def. know they aren't LS1's....Don't get me started on my hatred for LS1's (well the general owners more than the motor).
