Default UTEC Hotline !! urgent please help !

Ok Ive been waiting forever to stop raining these past few days..

I dont have a laptop yet but I was curious if I plug in the UTEC without any maps on it , will it do anything for the car right off the bat ?

I have a nice time frame with the sun still out but I hear lighting , Im seeing if its worth running outside to install the UTEC or will I benifit off it without any MAPs ?

Does the UTEC already raise the rev limiter and removes the goven off the bat ? or will I need a laptop and set this with ?

Thanks , waiting for some quick replies on a Sunday afternoon...

if u have a map selecter...if u set the utec on 0 if i remember right...the stock ecu will still control the car....then i think 9 is the valet mode where it wont rev over 2500....
they have maps to download...what r your mods?

Greddy Mufflers
NWP spacers
Cosmo Racing Pulley
VIAS block plate

Not to confuse anyone I own a 2004 A34 Maxima FWD VQ

Im searching all over the web to see how do I raise the rev limiter and remove the goven like the TS for the UTEC.

I bought this with a MAP SELECTOR as wel. if anyone could be helpful and point me in the right direction. I went to TurboXS Site already. Im just not sure where or how do I go about this.

I will try and borrow a friends laptop but in the meantime maybe someone that did this themselfs could help me.. Trying to save a some money and not take it to a tunner just yet until I get the n2o in.

Map 0 = Factory ECU Stock Mode
Maps 1~5 = Map Spaces
Map 6 = Valet (Reduced timing + Map 1 fuel values)
Map 7 = Disables Engine Completely
Map 8 = Factory ECU Stock Mode (Map 0 Repeated)
Map 9 = (Map 1 Repeated)

i dont think turbo xs has a specific map for the maxima out so i would wait untill you can adjust and check things with the laptop before i start running around on it.

On the Molex connector? Just ground the black wire to the chassis somewhere. It's important to get a good ground, or the UTEC will freak out. You don't need the red wire for anything. Just fold it up and tuck it away.

Are you sure UTEC will interface properly to a maxima ECU?? You're braver than I am. Either one would be quite expensive to replace it they don't take your motor out first. :-)

Well its been raining everyday but I said F it....

I got it installed , Grounded the remote map selector as well , car is running fine at "0"

I need to get a hold of a laptop, I havent quite ran it on the hwy or road very hard yet cause its raining. Going to pump some 93 octane back into her I was running 91 before.

Only issues is I dont seem to be able to mount the ECU back on the UTEC and mount them both where the STOCK ecu was at.

right now im glovebox less and I'll worry about that tommorow since I cant do much now.. its raining and getting dark (7pm eastern )

for the ecu, i just took the mounting bracket off and then put the ecu back where it came from. there should be enough room there now on my car. maybe something to look at for you

To get my UTEC in I had to make a minor modification to the bracket, if I recall, to make it fit good.
