Don't worry about it much, Most N/A mods will give you very minimal gains regardless.

Regardless of what type of gains or when the the info was posted, he still wants to know if this report he linked to is true. We have linked info from other sites all the time. The issue doesn't effect me as I already have aftermarket maps, but still would like to know if its true. If it is true, that may be the reason NA show such minimal gains from bolt ons.

Thank you for getting my point...I have a 5/16 spacer and sometimes the car feels as if it is draging. Reset the ecu and it feels different, just wanted to see if its true...

It's a valid question... why care that he asks? I'm curious to know too, as I haven't heard of this.

It's true that target A/F values may not be optimal for making power for any particular collection of after market performance modifications. It doesn't mean the stock ECU is doing something bad. Gains following retuning is pretty well documented, so I'm not sure what all the fuss is about.

It is true that if you put a SAFC or similar on a Z and try to lean it out to 16:1 during cruising, the stock computer will see this and compensate with additional fuel to cancel out what you did. It is not true that they can not be tuned though - there are a number of ways, from vq35 ecu reflash to pnp 350z standalone.
