well i was looking at the resonated pipes...

http://conceptzperformance.com/Cart/...ion.php?II=890

It states that they will not throw a CEL after install, and that with the in-line resonator, you will not hear a "rasp" between 3-4K like other TP's

But they ARE the same price as the HFC's they offer.
http://conceptzperformance.com/Cart/...5267.61.183.49

I wish i could make up my mind...I want to order today!

Well you've already got an intake, plenum, and catback exhaust. The only other breathing mod you could add in there is headers and/or cams. Both will be expensive and probably not worth the money. If I were in your shoes, I'd get the HFC's and then get a tune.

Thanks for the response...that sounds like a good plan. I'm going to be ordering those Kinetix HFC's SOON. I want to get a shop to install these so I dont have to mess with them...but I live in a small town and the local muffler shop wants $80 PER cat :-/

I'm also looking at the DC headers right now.

to the OP, are you talking about an actual tune on the dyno, or just a reflash?

Curious because I'm starting to do the research of tune vs. reflash. Especially since the closest shop I'll trust for a tune is still 4 hrs away from me.

An actual tune on the dyno with UPREV. I found a reputable dealer close to me called Xact Dyno in Tempe. Its $400 for the software, and $300 for the dyno time. So $700 gets me out of there with probably a nice extra 30 horses or more with the mods I will have, and just a 'better' running car.

dude just get all ur mods done then get the tune instead of doing it twice..if u are gonna stay n/a and not boost it, then do the headers, cams, intake, plenum spacer, high flows, cat-back and tune it..will be a decent car then..

K&N Typhoon Intake
Kinetix V+ Upper Plenum
DC Sport Headers
Kinetix HFCs
HKS Knock-off exhaust
NGK Iridium plugs (If that matters)

After the tune by UPREV, what kind of gains can I expect? total, compared to stock

Not always the case but it's likely that your car will run worse after you add the headers. In my case, my '05 350z ran worse after I added HFC's and headers the same day. Luckily I had it tuned a few days later, which made a huge difference. No one can give you a real number on the gains on the tune but it will make a big differnce. And TBH, I would skip the headers, save the money for other stuff. Been there done that.

I guess this is part of the fun of modding a car. Research as much as you can and form your own opinion from it. Just sayin, if I had to do it over again, I wouldn't get headers.

Yea i guess it just always depends. I've read a couple threads with dyno proven gains after headers. Youve even responded to one...the guy bought the cheapo headers and TPs off ebay and dynoed before and after and had a 17hp gain and 16 tq gain after install.
https://my350z.com/forum/intake-exha...omparison.html

But ive also read threads where there was absolutely NO gain after the header install. Who knows. Nothing is easy with the Z lol

What if you have all of those mods and don't get a tune? Is it bad? I have all these mods for my Z but its not tuned. I don't want to mess with the ecu/computer because once smog is up im dunzo!

all the mods on ur car and not tuning is just not taking advantage of the mods, the stock ecu will detune the car basically and usually run very rich or in some cases lean...having a tune done will not affect smog

if u are staying n/a uprev offers a nice dyno tune with a flash for the stock ecu and aam offers the same..dont go with a mail in flash get a real dyno tune

The sound of these test pipes is as good or better than the high-flow cats, to me.

If you drive on the street, high-flow cats will probably be ok. If you drive fairly aggressively on the track, I would (and did) go with test pipes.
