What does your owners manual say????? I bet it says premium only, 90 octane or higher.

Also, E85 is crap...I would NOT recommend it. Besides, last I checked, the Z isn't a flex fuel car....so that would be a no go.

E85 has some benefits....in particular for the forced induction guys. Requires some re-working of the fuel system, but I believe it has a motor octane of 105 (please correct me if I am wrong). I know ThreeFiveZero Z used it for his NA track car build.

Don't you have to be a flex fuel car? I was unaware you could just rework the fuel system to run it. And given the history of people asking if they can run something other than premium to save some money, I figured that was where this was going.

Jkenefic was running e85 at ZdayZ - and put somewhere in the mid 600s down on Injected's DD dyno.

The problem is that unless you live in the midwest (and stay in the midwest), sourcing the stuff is a PITA.

E85 is gaining popularity with the supra TT and evo guys now because they can run ~25ish psi on it. Supports far more power than typical pump premium gas. It tends to be worse of MPG because it takes a larger volume of fuel, but yields higher octane.

We only have 1 E85 station within 50 miles of my house.

it says 100+ plus on the pumps here. as long as you dont run straight e85 on a non flex fuel car i wouldnt think you would have a huge problem. ive ran it a few times with no problems.

well im running e85 in my twin turbo z (built motor) we made 600hp with 5 psi less than before i have 1400cc injectors and to 2 pumps but now it looks or it sounds (what the dyno or tuning) shows that those pumps are not enougth (walbro) so we need to replace them with something bigger, my question here for anyone that is running e85 i need to know the hp range an what kind of fuel pumps do they have on there car. thanks.

E85 requires a beefy fuel system (ie: multiple pumps/large injectors) since you need more of it to put out the same power of gas.... but on FI cars it is a cheap way to pump high octane into your car and raise boost levels. Michigan has E85 on every corner. Now all I need is FI.

Has anyone tried e85 on their NA car and experienced a positive result? Just curious. I have a flex fuel car, but I've never even thought about trying it in the Z. Maybe mixing it with premium gas might be an option? I've used 100 octane on my 300ZX NA before w/o negative results. I suppose the ECU will compensate for it.

E85 is win. Its big in south florida.

Like stated above you need a beefy fuel system because it requires % more fuel to operate correctly. If your cars fuel pump and injectors are not big enough then your better off with pump gas.

I have a buddy who stays low on the radar down there runs e85 on his G35. He's running precision 1600cc injectors and external massive fuel pump.

His car made 640rwhp on pump gas but 720 on E85. If you have the $$ and can get a hold purchase it go for it.

No idea why you people running out of fuel don't use a surge tank it would probably cure your problems. Also you should probably run staged injectors when you are using injectors that size.

Are there any changes to the motor gaskets? only changes to the inj, ecu retune, and fuel pumps for high hp FI cars is needed?

Which dual pump? Contact phunk of CJ motorsports for recommendations. I'm pretty sure that Jkenefic was running the CJM twin pump with 1200cc injectors and was pretty close to 700 whp.
