Default cheapest method to get the job done?

Can anyone fill me in because I am so new to tuning and I have been doing my reading on here but all of the info can be a bit overwhelming.

For now I will be getting some test pipes, a y pipe, an exhaust and an intake.

My main concern is to make sure that my A/F is where it should be, although extra hp would be a nice plus.

What is the most economical approach to accomplishing this if I'd also like to be able to easily retune after I add more mods in the future? Thanks

There isn't an economical way to do it...A good tune is expensive. Best bet for your goals is to get all your bolt ons and a UTEC and then have Shariff tune you.

For additional tunes it costs each and every time that is why people recommend getting ALL bolt ons before getting any tuning done. Personally I would save for TT's and get some real HP gains...

You dont need a UTEC. Get Uprev Osiris and let sharif do it for you.

a. You can flash or swap the ECU.

b. A piggyback unit attaches to the ECU. This may be professionally adjusted. Some piggyback units offer the driver several switchable maps.

Don't cheap out on a tune...there is a reason why each car needs to have a specific tune for its build...

spend the money, get the good stuff.

+1 cheapest isnt always the way to go. You get what you pay for. I would save up the money and get dyno tuned which will yield the best results.

^sometimes cheap works.

But not for tuning.

Ask any supra-dyno queen, cheap out on a tune, you will regret it for a long time.

Cheapest way to go is buy a really good engine management system the first time around, and you will have it forever.
I like utec, and some shops have put real power down using it, Haltech is good but not so much for me.
Way to decide is look at local shops or whoever will tune your car, and see what they use and take into consideration what future mods you will actually do (*not want to do, what is realistic probability.... Ie: i want a 20g greddy twin charged with a vortech s/c in a cf chassis z but will I ever do it? probably not, realistically I will get an 18g greddy and rebuild the engine + inj utec meth and boost)
Really better do it right the first time. Reflashes are cool but if you want more power prepare to fork out whatever you paid the first time.
Emanage ultimate is cheap and easy to get (from all the dudes running greddy twins) and is actually not that bad. Some shops even manage to put down some decent/respectable power using it.
Probably Piggyback would be your best bet, but get something good.
I stopped making sense a while ago.... I'm going to sleep now lol?
