Hi Jon,
I hope it's going well with your tuning.....

I got your Message on my answering Machine to talk about your Tuning.
As far as the HalTech is concerned, you are talking to the Expert.
" HAL is the MAN".

If you have questions concerning your Vortech or general Tuning question, I'd be glad to talk with you.

Tim

there is tons of room for error tuning any car as long as you are on the rich side of the tune and you keep the timing pulled back to normal values.

hopefully i should have my haltech by the winter. subscribed for the results!

The problem is... what are normal values? If you are too "conservative" on timing you can easily do damage as well via increased temperatures.

Thanks for the encouragement. As I continue on my adventure I'll keep everyone posted. I have been working with Hal and GMX on getting the map together. It's slowly comming along.

mine is 0 adjustment until around 5psi at higher rpm (i'd have to check what my map is set at).

stock ecu should pull timing when it detects knock so it's pretty conservative. just keep the timing pulled under that knock threshold and you're good. So far i've logged zero knock on my car since i've installed my vortech. 12psi.

It should but it doesn't, at high rpms, which is where you reach max boost. Very dangerous for a SC. Don't think the stock ECU will save you. If you've got a UTEC, you may be ok if you're knock thresholds are dialed in, but that's living life on the edge. 5 psi is not 0 psi - the timing maps should not be the same.
