Default gear swap (which breaks CC) and osiris

I'll be swapping gears with someone soon. It is going to break CC functionality - anyone experience this while having Osiris? are you still able to change maps?

I'll contact UpRev if I need to, but I figure someone here has osiris and different gears.

I went from stock to 4.08 gears and my CC still works as well as my map switching in Osiris.

really? I am reading about all sorts of folks having their cruise control functionality busted when they change gears. I'm not even going that extreme, just 3.3 to 3.5.

if I was paying for the swap (as a 5at owner) I would be aiming for 3.7s or maybe 3.9s, personally.

the 3.5 swap is free so I am jumping on it.

just having a local swap our pumpkins. did you have to do anything special to maintain cruise control functionality?

anyone run into this issue? if mine breaks, I am curious if Osiris will still let me change maps.

Yes really, not sure if it matters but I have a MT and mine is a G35.

Beshoff did it for me at the same time when I installed the Quaife LSD. I think if you do gears you might as well do LSD and save yourself 400-500 install

thanks for the info gabe. what's your impression of the quaife LSD? i don't want to sacrifice too much ride quality or hear any clicking from the rear end (a friend of mine with the nismo LSD clicks like a ****).

as for 3.7s, i'd love to go that far, but i already have traction issues with the vortech.

anyway, good to know the map switching capability won't be lost with gear swaps

Dead silent! It's a mechanical gear LSD as oppose to the clutch type like the Nismo. The quaife was a major step up from the stock VLSD, it'll definitely help on your traction.

"The cruise control, if I'm not mistaken, takes it's reading form the transmission output shaft...and now that the speed vs. rotational RPM's have changed - it fubars....none that I know of YET to fix this...but working and researching it out thoroughly."

this was in 2005.. from a thread on g35driver. another member talked to TS and found that there is no ecu setting to resolve this.

kind of sucks. I haven't found a single resource with a solution. I think Osiris will still work, if no one's encountered this scenario, I'll post my findings after the swap.

Ya, i would contact uprev. This is a first that i have heard of this, and to top it off i was thinking about doing the gear change in the next year but after hearing about this idk (that if the problem still happening for the 07 yr model). Well i say just take a risk and how often do you really use cruise control :/

Entaille, we have 4.08 gears in my brother's Z and his cruise control still works fine.

I went from a 3.5 to 3.9 gears and my cc works just as before as well as map switching. I'm also tuned via osiris.

i wonder if there is some slight difference between model years and/or 5AT vs 6MT that causes some folks to lose cruise control while others are fine.

it is sounding like it. it's too bad we dont have a compilation of years, trims, and tranny types that experienced CC messing up.

honestly, I never use CC, I just want to keep the map swapping ability : P

I think people lost there cc when they went from 3.53 to 3.35 and only in 5th and 6th gears.
