Default Soo...

I'll be installing lots of 350Z bolt-ons this weekend (plenum spacer, Popcharger, test pipes, and exhaust) will the stock ECU work okay with this or will I need to get a tune as soon as possible?

Thanks in advance for all the help!

You won't NEED a tune, the factory ECU will keep up with those mods all day, you will just get more from a tune now that you have some bolt ons.

Yeah I knew to get the most from them I would need a tune...just didn't know if it'd be okay to drive for a couple weeks without one.

Thanks guys!

your car will run fine with stock ecu with those mods. in order to reach the full potential of your mods tho (more hp) you need a tune.

like others mentioned, you will be fine.......

not needed, but yes, you can get the most out of them when you get around to tuning...

also, there are many more mods that could benefit, so you can wait to tune till you get more while NA or tune again if you don't see yourself getting tune affecting mods for a while again...

Thanks guys!

Here's another question for you. What exhaust is best for these cars for around 1000-1200 or so dollars? I've heard so many mixed reviews on everything that I don't know what to purchase.

that question is subjective..
if you have a limited budget, look into buying a lightly used exhaust system and choose whichever one you like. use youtube to check out the different exhaust notes

I just had my car tuned at forged performance and gained 21 hp. I think that's a pretty good gain versus just leaving the car as is. A good tune is definately worth it, just find a good tuner.

I've been real happy with the Motordyne products. The ART pipes are awesome and the exhausts are right around the price range that you want to spend.

Without a tune you'll be running lean with the TP and exhaust. Not to mention losing HP most likely due to all the mods and stock tune not designed for them.

Bottom line, get a tune or you're wasting money on all the mods and probably shortening the engine's life because of the lean condition.
