Bad initial tune with cams
So it turns out these are C2 cams, not S2 cams according to the shop I bought them from. I got them used for $500, couldn't say no. I didn't see anything about C2 cams on the JWT products page, so I assumed S2. Luckily I got some JWT valve springs and have the UTEC, otherwise I would have been screwed.
These are race cams, not street cams. 261 degrees duration, .456" lift according to Z1's website. That explains why the idle sounds like some wicked tuned '69 Camaro. Anyhow, I can't find any info on the cams regarding where they shine. I assume top end up into 7000+ rpm. I am not yet satisfied with the tune enough to see what's going on up there.
After fiddling with the knock settings some more, I am not showing many knocks at all now. I will begin adding some timing back and see what happens. The car is stalling when I come off the gas and go to idle revs. I don't know how to adjust the idle up to 850 rpms as JWT suggests. There is a little screw on top of the throttle body that looks promising, but I want to find out for sure before monkeying with it. The FSM is no help in this regard. Z1, Sharif, anyone, what's the deal with these cams? Do I need race gas to run them?

if your car is a 2003-2004 you can up the idle using a Cipher cable from UPrev.com or teh dealer can do it. If its a new "rev-up" model, you can not adjust the idle without a full reflash(~300$)
I have those cams, and I'm not sure what wicked '69 camaro you;ve heard, but they certainly dont sound like a V8.
They are a mid range cam and are listed on the JWT site. The C8s are their high rpm cam.

Cams have no idea what fuel you run

JWT has a writeup on how to fix the off throttle idle issue on their site
you're going to need an ecu that can manipulate cam timing to get anything meaningful out of them IMHO, along with a really nice header. The spacer you have will work well and you won't need any fuel related mods. And you are going to have to rev the snot out of it (relatively speaking) on a DE nonrevu without boost (nice cam with boost though). They are not a crazy grind at all but at present you're not really setup to take advantage if them
