Post Throttle stops working with P1148 after ECU reflesh

Hi experts,

I've got my ECU refreshed by GTM recently.

Even though I don't know if this symptom is related to the ECU job, but throttle suddenly stops working while driving after getting "Closed loop Bank 1" P1148 code.

When I erase the code with scanner, it works again until getting another "Closed loop Bank 1" P1148.

Since GTM made my ECU "full open loop", I don't think the O2 sensor error causes this symptom.

Have anyone experienced this symptom???

It sound like your car is going into a limp in mode. The code above is a 02 sensor performance monitoring code which will not cause a limp in mode. You need to do further diagnosis.

ps. All your emails are coming back undeliverable.

Hi Sam,

I intermittently get the following error codes in addition to the above.

I'm wondering if this symptom is related to the refleshed ECU itself or related to wiring / connector terminal.

It's not like typical limp mode because the throttle doesn't respond at all (while idle) to accellerator.

The below are what I'm getting in addition to the above:
- P1148
- P2122
- P2138
- P1229
- P0550
- P0452
- P1031

Sam@GTM,

Do you agree on the above post?
My car is not operable without carrying a sanner to erase the CELs.
Can i send the ECU back to u to get it refleshed again?

If you have the HR engine then:

- P2122 <---- The accelerator pedal position sensor
- P2138 <---- The accelerator pedal position sensor
- P1229
- P0550 <---- Power steering pressure (PSP) sensor
- P0452 <---- EVAP CONTROL SYSTEM PRESSURE SENSOR
- P1031

I don't think these codes are related, check the ground harness connections for a start.

Why don't you get the Cipher cable, Its for ~$300 and you can flash your ECU at home

Either you have the wrong ROM (flash) or a big wiring problem. I doubt reflashing with the same program would fix it. If you had your own cable you could flash back to stock to see for yourself.

I agree that those codes are not related, but it's unrealistic that all those sensors are broken at the same time.

That's why I think the root cause is either wiring or the reflashed ECU itself.

I've already double-checked my ground harness and the engine harness, but the symptom happens again (happens 3 times during 10 minutes test driving.)

I asked GTM like the following, just hoping for a good response from them.

----------------------------------------------------------
Hi Sam,

As you've seen in my350z.com, I'm having various issues after installing the flashed ECU.

Even though you can always say there can be other root cause for the issues but I'm pretty sure it ECU related since it's not realistic all those sensors are broken at the same time. The below is the codes that I'm getting intermittenly.
- P1148
- P2122
- P2138
- P1229
- P0550
- P0452
- P1031

I've already checked ground harness and engine harness (to ECU) but I couldn't find any issues there.

What I ask is pretty reasonable for both you and myself.

I've already paid 400$ + shipping for the previous reflash work, and I noticed you now have a option to do the flash "with flash cable" @ 600$ without having to send ECU back and forth.

I will pay 200$ difference more, and you please upgrade the service to "with flash cable" option (with the services listed in the instruction manual on the GTM website.), which means you ship the cable to me @ extra 200$ payment so that we can fix the problem together remotely. (You are just performing the services (providing me 3 versions of ROM files) listed in your manual, and I will just go back to factory ROM if the problem persists.

Please let me know how you think. I think this is very reasonable offer.

Thank you and regards,

JR

Thank you. I agree. Your suggestion is exactly what I requested to GTM at extra cost. I'm currently waiting for their answers for my request below.

I thinks IT'S a normal request and that they have to accept.
Also UPREV Standard with cable and 3 e-tunes in official site is priced 500$...

I know. But i'm willing to spend another 200$ more in addition to 400$ + shipping that i paid previously for the flash. Hoping that GTM will accept my offer.
THANK YOU FOR THE ADVICE!
