engine managemnet for HR ?
My'Z is 08' HR M/T and has Berk HFC, HKS hi-power catback and K&N drop-in filter.
I'm planning to tune my car using Tomei 264 cams(in/out).
Which engine managemnet system(EMS) is good for cam tuning?
Haltech send reply ; "it will not be able to control the variable cam timing that you desire."

Thanks, Vince
A Haltech most certainly WILL control the cam timing on an HR if the unit is configured properly
TXS UTec - no cam timing adjustment at all, no application for HR
HKS F Con - no cam timing adjustment at all (at least not out of the box), no application for HR
Greddy EManage - makes a nice paperweight
there is no such thing as a "best" system - the success or failure of the project and the result is 100% in the hands of the tuner, not the software he is using (IMHO). The decision comes down to 1. budget 2. desired functions (not all systems do all things), experience level of the tuner

^^^^ I was really saying his "best bet" specific to cam tuning would be Uprev...no special configurations needed to run it and overall would be the most economical and straight forward system.

It all depends on what his total needs are, and what his tuners experience level is with such systems. Uprev is a very nice product and can work well. I'm neither agreeing nor disagreeing with the suggestion at all, I've used Uprev, and actually own it in conjunction with my setup. But when evaluating proper engine management, the "who" is far more important than the "what" IMHO
Thanks for all good advice. ^^
I send a same question to Haltech,
and entire reply is
"As the original 350Z Platinum unit is sold, it is not a direct plug-in for the 2007-08 350Z with VQ35HR motor. In order to allow for this, we must create a new harness that can adapt to your original engine harness. Once this is done, it will require a few additional steps on the installer's end, but it will ultimately be able to plug in to your factory harness, run in parallel with the factory ECU, and possess direct control over the engine. However, it will not be able to control the variable cam timing that you desire.
Most HR customers are using this setup as a means for controlling their forced induction setup. For the sole purpose of controlling cam timing, I'm afraid that Nissan has that fairly well locked down.

I wanna go to UPREV, but they r not in here. T.T
And, I found F-con IS has NVCS Control ability ; F-Con iS can control the NVCS variable valve system solenoid on Nissan vehicles equipped with this feature. F-Con iS uses engine speed and water temperature as conditions for controlling NVCS to extract the maximum from your engine.
I don't think to install F/I on my Z.
I want just Tomei 264 cams in Z's engine for daliy driving & short track race.
So, not hadrcore tuning, but prefect(?) installing.

FCon V Pro will only control cam timing with their optional valcon controller as I recall - you would need to check with HKS near you as the IS isn't offered here normally
Speed and water temp to control cam timing, if that is how it's done, is retarded
