^^^ any kind of exhaust leak at or before the sensors would be bad. But with exuayst leaks, codes are usually thrown. In my case I had no codes at all, just wonky cruising trims.

FYI, I confirmed that even with the P04x0 codes disabled (catalyst) the lower o2's still do full time work on the trims -- no change in logs or run conditions.

Pretty sure the monitors will just stay in a "not ready" state after being disabled.

No idea... if I wanted to get through smog I'd just reinstall the antifoulers temporarily.

why doesnt uprev just program all monitors to read "ready"

if they can back hack and disable the CEL, why not just allows those things to be "ready" as well. I mean, all this stuff is sold for "offroad vehicles only" anyhow...

unless the ability already exists I doubt they would spend so much time on it... it's not like they have source code and can do whatever they want. the DTC disable is actually a function of Consult II that they probably reverse engineered by comparing byte codes in the ECU.

Does anyone know if the ART pipes are affected by this same problem?

Lol yeah I'm thinking about getting some ART pipes, but if it screws up my tune that would negate any gains I'd get from them.

Based on the length of the O2 bungs on the Art pipes I can only imagine it has a similar, if not worse affect than my antifoulers did. Keep in mind the 'negative' affect is richer A/F's in low load areas... so you won't lose power, it's mainly just fuel economy. I doubt people installing Art pipes looking to squeeze out as much HP as possible are too concerned with MPG. The reason I was so concerned because I've got HFC's and the rich A/F could eventually lead to premature failure. I'm also just **** about my fuel trims and A/F readings... I assume most people with ART pipes (N/A) don't have A/F gauges anyway so...

Ever since Cipher was released I noticed that my idle AFR is “dancing”, 5 years on Crafordz cats which had no antifoulers, and year now on ART pipes which have antifoulers built in. Since last set of ART pipes was installed (I am on the third set now), I am seeing P0037, but no CEL yet.

EDIT:
In my case idle AFR “dancing” is from ~13.9 to ~15.5 and NOT between 12.5 and 14.0 that djamps was experiencing. The point that I was trying to make was that antifoulers in my case made no effect on AFR.
Only time I had ECU adding fuel on already rich idle AFR was when one of my cats was clogged.

Its probably illegal as hell and would directly affect federal laws. Wouldn't put my company in that sniper scope.

P0037 means your lower o2 sensor is fried.

Easy to replace yourself if you have jack stands or ramps, but not cheap.

www.courtesyparts.com has them for $150 and www.advanceauto.com has Bosch for $160. Just pick your car & then search for "O2 sensor" on either site.

Is there a difference between Lower o2 Sensors and Downstream Sensors? I recently ordered 2 Lower Sensors (Left & Right) and they are different than the ones that are on the cats. My tech installed my ART Pipes finally got the sensors off the stock cats, but they were very stripped, hence ended up having to order sensors. But basically the Lower sensors I ordered have a different plug (square-ish) so it doesn't plug into the car. The OEM ones off the cats are more rectangle-ish.

I looked on Partsgeek.com and they have the OEM ones by Denso and they labeled those "Downstream". Other ones were labeled Upper or Lower. I Thought Downstream and Lower were supposed to be the same? Or is the Lower meant for somewhere else?

As i stated in the PM, 24450 is the NGK (NTK) part number for the post cat sensors on your car. What was on the boxes for the ones you received.

Also, ignore pics for this kind of thing, they're (in this case) usually stock photos and you can't go off them.

How easy is this to spot in the logs? my 2004.5 doesn't seen to throw the code regularly or often enough.
