Be careful with the R154. After 600rwhp you may be replacing rear oil seals. The newer 5speed trans from GM (Aisin AR-5 found in Solstice/Sky/Hummer) appear to be more promising since they don't have the rear seal blowout problem and they don't shift like rowing a boat through rocks. Yes they are a true bolton for the JZ motors, just need to factor in shifter location since the length is different.

Best bet is still the 6-speed Getrag.

He probably forgot to keep you guys updated, so I'll try to remedy this situation.

It says library on that sign:

The car runs and drives perfectly. There is a little things that still needs to be done like connecting tiptronic (it is running AT), PowerFC and boost it up a little more but overall it is done.

Do not ask me any questions I'm too far away from the car to answer those )))))))
I will try to contact the owner on the Russian 350z forum to check this thread more often.

P.S. For you safety I photoshoped the bears out.

nice cars.

What are all the holes in the bumper for? I don't see an intercooler behind those holes so i'm confused why they would be cut out.

I asked the same question when I saw them, he says that 2jz getting very hot so he had to cut those holes just to feel more safe. I don't know anything about intercooler, all I know that there is 2" radiator and 2 fans installed.

Nobody is willing to pay over 3k for a used transmission, or at least nobody should be...

Those r154's can blow out all day when they only cost a couple hundred bucks. My buddies been running the same one for quite a while and it outlasted his 1j.

I agree. That's why I run one myself

It's just annoying to do a random single pull reving out to 7500rpm and have the inside of the car fill with smoke from the oil burning off the exhaust. The seals are cheap but if I had to do it over again, I would probably source a different trans.

I hear ya, those boxes feel like you are dragging a steel rod through a bunch of rocks!

That's why I think a cd009 kit would be the sh*t. Even 1/1.5/2j guys would be buying our transmissions (edit, i mean supra sc300 is300 etc LOL). You can easily get a brand new one for less than 2k shipped. The gear ratios might not be ideal, but you could probably figure out something with the diff, the z's have everything from 3.3 to 4.x so
