is your z an AT? im running an 04 5AT with intake, plenum spacer, headers, test pipes, and true dual exhaust. will be putting a valve body in within a month, and then going to tune. so i will make a thread soon as well.. just curious as to how good the tunes are for the 5AT's.

260 would be good so I'm taking it the chances of making 280 and above without cam+headers is impossible?

my friend with an 04 just got the uprev about 3 months ago.

motordyne iso 5/16 spacer
leightweight clutch and flywheel
momentum long ram intake
aam test pipes
greddy y pipe
agency power ti single exit exhaust

and made 276 to the wheels on a mustang dyno.

he doesnt have cams or headers so i would say 280 is no where near impossible.

I'm no expert but I think 280 on an mt is plausible on a dynojet. You guys with the rev ups get a bit of a jump on us Non rev up at guys. 260 might be wishful on the at guy... Unless it's a dynapack Dyno? I'm seeing a lot of mid 40s.

I was running intake, 5/16 spacer, HFCs, catback and Cobb tune and pulled 224 I think (high altitude where I was). Very disappointing considering you know the car is "sold" as 285. Mts are sold at 305 or so and yet very few ever make 300 NA. Maybe the z is different- but I don't think so.

Transgo vb upgrade though?? You'll love it. I had it too and it transformed my car. Best money I've spent on it NA. Combined with the tune anyway.

Also to the at guy- probably an open diff so keep in mind a lot of the tire spinning / chirping will be because it's coming out of 1 wheel- unless again zs are different!

I just got it retuned at R/T Tuning. I just waited another year until I boosted it. But I wouldnt be discouraged. If you take it to a reputable shop Im sure you'll be happy with the tune.

From what I understand, mustang dynos read low. So my friend that got 276 was really more in the 280's.
