2008 350z 6MT w/ Bolt-Ons - UpRev Results
Drove 2 hours today to CIN Motorsports for yet another UpRev Osiris tune. (had my old 04 5at tuned there as well). and had another great experience! I was hoping to have some Berk HFCs installed, but Bobby pointed out something that is defected with the passenger side.. (another story that im currently trying to work out with the seller on here), but they went ahead and tuned it with the OEM cats and when I get the Berk HFCs repaired or order new ones, they are going to re-tune it for me (will update thread with new numbers when it happens) . Anyways here is some info about the car, some pics, and a video!
**CIN uses a Mustang dyno.. thought i should mention that.
Big thanks to Bobby, Sean and the rest of the guys there at CIN.
Info about the car:
2008 Nissan 350z Base
42,000 Miles
6 Speed Manual Transmission
93 Octane Fuel
Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil
Mods:
-Stillen Gen2 Intakes
-Stillen Y Pipe
-Megan Racing Drift-Spec Exhaust
Weather Conditions:
85 degrees
68% humidity
Video:

Final results were 290hp/255 tq. Bobby did like 8-10 runs and the last 6 or so were all from 286-291. Only got the chart for the 289.9 run though. So a 10whp gain and 8 ft lbs of torque picked up. on top of that, throttle response is a whole lot better. the car feels great. Have to get this passenger side HFC repaired, then will go back for a re-tune and Bobby thinks I can make 300whp.
UPDATE!! 10/24/12
Final Mod List:
-Stillen Gen2 Intakes
-Berk Technology Test Pipes
-Stillen Y Pipe
-Megan Racing 3" Single Exhaust
just want to say, this is one of the loudest exhaust setups i've ever heard... and i do not recommend it to anyone that is worried about future hearing problems
** btw, i won a momentum performance single exhaust so it'll be off with the megan racing! yay
didn't quite make it to 300whp like i was wanting to, but i picked up 7lbs of tq, and 3 hp with the test pipes. so overall from the get go, i picked up a total of 13whp, and 17 lbs of tq. mid range power was improved a ton. overall, very satisifed! on top of all this, i had an oem limited slip differential installed, and an energy suspension diff bushing. car feels great!

This is music to my ears. I'm getting the Megan drift spec this weekend from my buddy (should've had it on weeks ago) and his Megan y pipe. In the next week or 2 I'll also finally be putting on my Momentum Performance intake. I don't have an HR motor (2006 enthusiast) so obviously can't expect 290whp but it makes me feel good that the exhaust will add some hp. Before I decide to ever get a tune I'll definitely get some Berk test pipes as well.

Take out Stillen intake and you take more HP quite for sure...
Only noise and no advange...
Nice number anyway and with Berk kat you'll get some other horses for sure, may be also without mapping again...

But I see a LOT of REAL test, i think you can find everywhere in the wen, whit normal people and real street cars.
With hot engine ALL these intake loose.
And it's also very clear why, hot air and loose of air speed do to lack of good box design.
Only solution to have fresh air is stage 3 but that has defect of too long pipes, no good alsto that...Or to make some custom mods.
If you look at HR car used in some races (in Europe like UK ) you see a lot of changes but OEM intakes with cotton/plastic filter inside...
Also i see Japan HR with a lot of mods but OEM airbox.
There is a reason???
On "old" engine all modifications on intake are a good thing to do, on HR no...
Ah, my friend in Italy has tested your intakes: 2 days and taked out...
Loose power with high temperatures and on low rpm car is slower.
Waste of money. at least, if not waste of HP.
Anyway nice dyno, it's only my "cent" about intakes !
PS: for FI engine the story may be different of course...
PPS: sorry for off-topic !!!

While I've bought intakes more for their sound and not power, the Stillen and Injen intakes for the HR's do seem to produce some additional hp in the higher revs, without a tune. With a tune, it'll help restore some of the low end torque and help the car run efficiently with the intake, usually netting more hp. At least that's what I've gathered from reading in this forum. I say stay with the intakes
If I'm looking at the dyno sheet right, it looks like you were running rich before the tune and they leaned you out with the tune. I would've expected you to be running lean with out the tune.
Also, I noticed the engine speed wasn't pushed to the HR's 7500 redline. Was there no point going to 7500?

Did you read my post? I never said anything about advertisements or online claims. The shop I go to, CIN Motorsports (one of the most reputable tuners on the east coast) recommends this intake. They see the best gains on THEIR own dyno with this particular intake. And they've tuned/dyno'd numerous Zs/Gs
Again, no plan to change my intake setup.

You have your intake and your hopinion, that's enough !
And that's good !
But it's not for sure God word...
Use car in street and and simply take a look in google, not only on a specific dyno.
Anyway it's not a problem for me and not for you.
Good car & very good dyno !
