Ok I have my flame jacket on.
I have searched. I can't seem to find the information I'm looking for.
I need a tuning solution. I want to run Haltech. I've found lots of information regarding the new PnP version features over the earlier Platinum Pro Harness system.
I was hoping someone can shed some light on how the earlier Pro Harness (red box I believe) differ's from the Platinum Pro Harness (Silver box). What features does the newer silver box harness system offer that earlier one does not? I called Haltech - they didn't seem to know or weren't willing to discuss it they were more focussed on selling the new PnP system (understandably so)

I couldn't find any info on this either when I looked. Subscribed.
I can tell you that the red box won't run software/ecu manager higher than V1.10, which is getting old now and lacks some of the nicer features like TPS calibration, etc.
If the price is a few 100 bucks different or less, go for the silver box Platinum pro, I should have.

^ That is not true. There is no difference between the silver and red box for the Pro Harness series. The new Pro Plug In is completely different. That is also silver, so it is a bit confusing.
Thanks for pointing that out!
So the Pro-series is the Red box and 'older' silver box?
And the new silver box is the platinum pro?
I was also told all models are considered 'platinum pro', which confused me even more

The main difference is that the Pro Plug In (newer) runs without the stock ECU at all and handles the drive by wire throttle and creature comforts in addition to fuel, ignition, and cams. The older Pro Harness (older box is red, newer ones are silver) works with the stock ECU and allows the stock ECU to continue to control the throttle body, AC, etc (and the 5AT if you have an automatic transmission).
The new Pro Plug In units will not work with a 5AT (needs to send torque input to 5AT to control line pressures via CAN to TCM but it does not support this, yet).

Yes, that's a good point and while theoretically the new unit has the capability to report OBD readiness, it would be illegal to do so, so it comes from the factory set to read "not available" for all SRTs.
Another reason to choose the Harness version as the stock ECU still manages that function. I recommend you call Dynosty (www.dynosty.com) and talk to Hal (he is the primary USA distributor).

That was one big selling point for me with the harness system because we're incorporating that testing now. However I still have no real clear idea how it will work, or IF it will work.
The fact that the MAFS signal the OBD II reader see's is pretty much 34 g/s all the time is a bad start LMAO.

With the PNP Harness, you have to enable MAF copy through in ECU Manager, OR you can set up a MAF table to fake the outgoing signal based on another signal (e.g. MAP). Only MAF copy through works with a 5AT. It works well though.
