Default 06 Rev up ECU on my 03 350z

Ok so heres the deal. I just bought a greddy TT kit for my 2003 350z and a buddy of mine is going full standalone on his 2006 350z. The ECU in his car has the uprev software install and tuned for his set up. My question is would I be able to run his ECU on my car with the years and his being a rev up and mine not, I'll obviously be getting it retuned for my set up

Why would you even want to do that?? If you're going to be getting it retuned anyways..

The whole point is that his computer already has uprev installed on his ECU, mine is stock... There for instead of me paying for the license fee and so on I'm needing to know if i can just take my ECU out of my car and plug his in then take it to a tuner and have them tune it to my set up

I'll be honest, I have no idea how the process works with these ECU, I'm only familiar with piggybacks and chipping honda ECU's ..... haven't really looked into it that much since I won't be tuning it myself like my other cars

You can transfer the license over to your ecu. Just talk to the shop and they can do it, or if you pick up an uprev cable you can do it yourself

Big diff between those ECU's. It's not going to work without some major harness/sensor changes. Just transfer the license and retune.

ok can someone explain what how uprev works and how you get it, like whats the license crap... my experence with other nissan ECU's (OBDI) to run nistune is you take out the ECU pull the chip, add a jumper and daughter board load your tune on a chip, throw it back in the ECU and go... from my understanding this is completely different but I'm trying to get my head around it
