Default What is the newest version of Haltech ECU manager for the old box?

My haltech ecu manager is telling me to upgrade to 1.11. I have the old haltech that requires the oem ecu. I think it's called the pro harness not the complete stand alone.

I was under the assumption that the version 1.11 is only for the newest full stand alone. Anyone have any insight into this?

Also, I have custom firmware from Hal since the stock haltech firmware wouldn't recognize my cam timing and my cams were stuck at zero. I will probably lose this if I upgrade, correct?

you use the same ECU manager. stuff not supported will not be highlighted.

you are not changing your firmware, you will still have a z.106 etc map.

Firmware and Software are separate. You should be able to use the latest version of Haltech's software, ECU Manager. Do not upgrade firmware though (done through Tools->Upgrade Firmware menu).

Thanks to both of you for answering!

That makes me feel better. I was really worried about losing the custom work you took time to make Hal.

You do? Were they always stuck at zero or was it an intermittent problem?

Does your Haltech read your CAN Vehicle Speed correctly? I am stuck using a Hal prepared variant of firmware 1.06 because anything newer breaks my speed sensors, and I like to run speed based target boost sometimes. I swear the last time I tried to update my ecu manager to 1.10 or whatever it told me I had to update my firmware too...so I just kept ECU manager 1.08 and I never update anything anymore.

I think the 1.10 requires firmware but apparently going to 1.12 doesn't. I had to upgrade to 1.10 firmware and that's when I lost cams completely. Hal fixed that. I didn't have speed sensors for the longest time but for some weird reason it started working. So I currently have speed sensors. I didn't change anything that I know of to get the speed sensors back.
