Angry Uprev no communication with ecu

Hey guys my car is tuned with uprev and I wanted to flash a new tune to it so when I plugged in my cable it is not communicating with the ecu. I tried reinstalling the whole suite with no change in behavior. It shows that it's connected and that I have a tuner license. The original micro USB cable that came with the dongle got damaged a while back so I tried several new cords and got the same results. I called uprev and they want to charge me 475 for a new wire. Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem could be so that I don't have to buy a whole new cable? I can communicate with the ecu using a standard obd2 scantool and yes the key is to the on position.

Yeah, seems to be a cable issue. I wonder if uprev would inspect the cable for you for a reasonable fee. If it's a manufacturing defect on the cable itself, I hope uprev would replace it for free.

Kinda what I was guessing too. Anyone in the southeast michigan area with an extra cable I could use to flash my new tune with. License is already in the ecu.

The micro USB cables are generic, so you can swap that with another one easily. If that was the problem swapping a new one should fix it. If the dongle is fried then it would need to be replaced, I'm pretty sure you can send it to them to test for free, if its been less than a year since you bought it then they will replace it under warranty, if its been more than a year then unfortunately your SOL.

Oh that so sucks I was looking at the receipt and I got it in July of 2014. I tried multiple micro USB wires and got the same result so I guess I'll just have to get in contact with uprev again about getting it repaired. Thanks for your input guys.
