The piggyback will let you do the tuning yourself. You won't be sitting around waiting for UPS to return your ECU, and you won't
be out hundreds of bucks each time you make a mod and need the ECU reflashed.

I dont think there are any piggybacks out there yet. At least, as far as I know. Play the waiting game with us...

There is, in fact, a piggyback out there. It's the Greddy eManage, and you can use it with either F/I or N/A applications.

To answer the original question, a TS reflash alters the ECU programming itself. A piggyback, like the eManage, alters the signal that the stock ECU sends it. The eManage, IMHO is the best piggyback out there, and is the next best thing to a stand-alone in terms of tunabily.

However, like all piggybacks, they are dependent on the stock ECU signal that is delivered to them, so as the stock ECU makes adjustments, it changes the tune on the piggyback as well. That's why is hard to get a perfect tune out of a piggyback, but we're getting pretty darn close with the eManage.

At lot of the F/I people, once they build their motors, will be going with TS Reflash, and then fine runing and scaling the injectors with the eManage. So they both serve their purposes.

Also, in addition to what Sharif said, the Piggybacks (eManage) only alter your A/F rations and possibly timing. If you get a TS flash, there are other advantages such as higher redline, removal of rev limiter, and 100% throttle fix, to name a few.

IMHO the eManage is the best alternative to a TS flash available today.
