UK - Is your order confirmed yet ?
veilside - the TVR was a last minute change of heart of the Aston. Loved the looks of the DB6, but drove a TVR and it was soooo much more fun. With the Aston, once I'd got in it, I just wanted to park it up and get out and admire it
... the TVR looks great *and* drives great, and that's my kind of car...
I wouldn't take a hit on the TVR no, cos I bought it used not new. It's a really good one and I paid a very decent price, it's a much admired car (great colour combo, great history), so I would maybe even make a profit. BUT... I do not want to have to chose between the two. I love this car, there's no way I can part with it. What I need to do is find out a way to get the Z too.

What if we are all victims of a huge Nissan publicity stunt?
Do Nissan work New year's Eve or are they are all going to be delivered on Xmas Day......
What a choice: family, turkey, getting pissed, falling asleep in front of the TV OR going out and putting your first 200 miles on.
Sorry, but I was feeling left out, my birthday is July (even Nissan couldn't get it that wrong!)

Hello guys and girls,
I am from Germany and started a week ago a thread (my first poll at all) in the Europe forum with the title "350Z orders in Germany", containing some issues for the plans of Nissan in Germany (for example 1800 cars planned to deliver in 2003).
Funny enough I didn't get any response on that, what ever this means:
- Germans don't visit this site
- Germans do not like the 350Z very much
- Few Germans recognized, that you can order it
May be this thread is interesting for you also. If you like to comment on it - for example if you have more infos on the german situation - I would appreciate.
Yours sincerely
Hans

Hi Hans
Don't know much about the German scene, except 1800 cars in 2003 seems really unfair compared to UK! (not that I want more than one).
Don't know if you have read all the other threads so....In the UK only 450 are available in 2003. Delivery will not start until 1 October, the cars were released on 17 March at 15:50 pm (3:50!) and the entire allocation was sold in less than one hour (2,800 Euro deposit). Also UK press suggested that only 1000 for UK market in 2004.
From your comments this means Nissan GmB are really optimistic or lucky to get such a large allocation from Japan.
However........... this site represents only 8 of the confirmed UK orders (2 of which are 2004 anyway) which means that 444 350Z owners in the UK :
- Do not know about the UK site
- Are commercial purchasers
- Cannot read or do not have computers!
I think the first, so I guess that is what has happened in Germany as well.
Also Nissan held back on starting any real marketing until this month as they launched the new Micra In January 03. Maybe this was the same also. This has meant only people who really like cars were aware of its immenent launch (about 4000 people registered on Nissans website for 305Z). Maybe this will change later this year.
Whatever, we are all very happy, and will part of a small, exclusive group in the UK at least until 2005!
Jez
PS have you ordered or are you just interested, or have Germany not started releasing them yet?

Hi Jez,
Thanks for your reply.
I ordered a Z on 25.2.2003 (top version in blue-metallic without the RAYS rims) at a local Nissan dealer for having an early delivery. My dealer kept my order until 6.3.2003. Thats the date where dealers were officially allowed to send Z-orders to Nissan. In April Nissan intends to start the ordering system for the Z - what ever this means. I'm still waiting for an official confirmation of my order and a delivery date from Nissan.
More details i put down in the first two posts of the thread "350Z orders in Germany" in the Europe forum.
I agree that Nissan seems to very optimistic here, but the 1800 cars for Germany are an official figure (for only 2003). I do not know, how many they plan to sell/build in 2004.
Nissan announced the Z in nearly all European homepages (I checked Germany, France, Italy, The netherlands, Austria) you can reach them by www.nissan-global.com) at the same date (aproximately the 7.3.03) with the same page (except in different languages). In the pdf-file you saw the available versions and options. Some days later (ca. 11.3.03) they also put prices in. Funny thing is, that in Netherlands and Italy they only offer one version - the top version.

Hi Jez,
You can add me as confirmation #9. I got a Q4 delivery date from my dealer last week.
If any one is interested, here is the spec: GT Pack, Charcoal Leather, Rays, Azure Blue (yes it was me).
Its going to be a long hard summer,
Steve

#9..your delaer must be the world speed typing champion....unless anyone knows how Nissan's numbering system works.
Anyone know if it was actual allocation number or randomly generated

I was told by my dealership that the numbers did'nt have any particular significance and were randomly generated.
Nissan (Japan) will issue the exact delivery dates once all the orders have been processed.

Jez,
Sorry, I think I've crossed your wires.
In response to your earlier post - I was adding myself to the list of confirmed orders. I've got no idea what my actual order number is
?

Hi Folks,
I ordered Azure blue w/GT pack last week in Belfast. I wanted Sunset but presumed everyone would go for that, so went for 2nd fave instead.......DOH!! Looking round here I'm starting to think I was wrong, ah well........how long do you have to wait for confirmation?

Congratulations, welcome to the team
You've gone for the GT pack, but you don't say whether you also went for Rays (?) - but that is most probably irrelevant anyway...
...most of the people on the UK Forum were staking out the dealers on the March 17th launch date for the Pre-Order programme. We're led to believe that the 2003 allocation of 450 GT's with Rays was sold within an hour. So, unless someone drops out, it would seem you're looking at a 2004 delivery
Check with your dealer, they should be able to give you a projected date, now that the water's have settled a bit.
Don't get me wrong here, but wouldn't an Orange car in Northern Ireland, be a little bit like waving a Red Flag at a Bull ? No matter what your religious / political standing it could be a little bit of an attention grabber
- Sorry to raise the issue & all that

ah no.......we're not that bad!!!!! Its all lovely and calm here now ...honest,
I fancied the rays but the problem is that I travel up and down to Dublin all the time and some of the roads are very bad, the previous two cars (both BMWS) had to have 3 alloys replaced between them as they kept getting bent on the potholes. Maybe its just a BMW thing as my current car seems to do alright but I guessed the rays would also suffer being lightweight and all.... maybe I'm wrong, a 2004 delivery is a bit depressing so if I changed do you feel the car may arrive sooner???

Good to hear
I think some of the coastline of Northern Ireland is the most peaceful & beautiful I've ever seen e.g. Ballycastle area...
I know what you mean about the run down to Dublin, but at least in the Z it would be the other guys pulling over into the ditches to let you go
Unfortunately, I think you may have missed the proverbial boat on a 2003 delivery, but you may want to check with your dealer... he should be able to check the situation, or do an enquiry for you on the Nissan Intranet
Good Luck

I've spent many a long summer in Northern Ireland, especially round Coleraine and Port Stewart/Port Rush.
Love the place so much (Mother is Irish), that I'm going back to Scuba Dive around the Northern Coast in July.
I always used to say that I'd marry an Irish girl... so if you know any
