Muchas, do you want my place? I have an Oct 03 car confirmed, but I spent the money on a TVR last month!

That's a nice thought... but don't think you can do that.

I think Nissan will reassign the place to the next person in the queue

However, if you were to take delivery and sell it onto him... that'd work, but it'd be a second owner car.

yeah... and I'd not be able to let it go!! also the small problem of paying for it first.

anyone with a full-spec GT give me an idea of the monthly car payments after a £2k deposit?... Maybe it won't be so hard after all...

With Egg at 7.9%, taking the maximum £25K,:

Over three years:

principal loan £25,000.00
loan term 36 months
total monthly payment £779.55

Over five years gives the following:

principal loan £25,000.00
loan term 60 months
total monthly payment £502.91

Terms go upto 7 years, which gives you:

principal loan £25,000.00
loan term 84 months
total monthly payment £385.49

Ow that's scary...

£27,795.00 = OTR incl. leather & Rays

1. = £28,063.80 + £2,795.00... £ 30,858.80

2. = £30,174.60 + £2,795.00... £ 32,969.60

3. = £32,381.16 + £2,795.00... £ 35,176.16 - mind you I suppose that's £ 10 per c.c.

Yikes. um, ok.

Maybe I should do the sensible thing and cancel my order, pick up a used (even an import) Z as a winter car in a couple of years...

can I still hang out here though?

Default Deposit question

actually.... does anyone know if the £2k deposit is refundable if you change your mind before delivery time?... I'm awful at decisions, and I really would like to have a backup plan in place incase TVR land goes pear-shaped.

Hi girlracer,

The £2,000 deposit is Fully Refundable at any point until they ask you to pay the balance. This was a special rule put in place by Nissan. The only concern you may have is balancing the maybe of the £2,000 against having the money in your bank account or wherever gaining interest, etc.

I think you've got to, just to stop this being a guy thing...

...well, at least until one of us takes delivery !!!

richZ is right; in the Product Briefing Pre-Order Pack that the dealers were given, it was quite explicit about the £2K deposit being TOTALLY refundable... and if they tell you any different

well cool beans then!

I like to keep my options open. Just went for a blast in the Tuscan and I would be INSANE to part with it. But knowing I have a Z with my name on it in 7-9 months if I want is also a nice thought

Hi Chaps, and lasses now I see, thanks for all the kind support.

I'll be popping in to say Hi when I can and to keep tabs on how the cars fare on our shores...take it steady out there, you just never know where those darn mobile speed camera vans will be next...

Oh, and one other thing I've noticed.........we are all in our thirties....are we appraoching mid life crises or have too much money...!!!

Just to keep you updated, I rang my Merc dealer about the new SLK re: this weeks Auto Weekly and they have put me on the waiting list (July 04) and there is NO DEPOSIT....take heed MR NIssan.

Talking

After much chasing and polite abuse, I eventually got my letter from my dealer today.....

Delivery should be October?????? Knowing my dealer I think it's probably a typo! Not sure how I managed that, but if you politely speak to the nice people at the Nissan Helpline, some of them do actually bother to come back to you.

There is a small team in their HO only dealing with 350Z purchasers, lady in charge is called Donatella (thought that was one of the Ninja Turtles?). Didn't manage to get her to ring me back, but if you mention her name they seem to file the call properly.

Suggest you try this if you haven't had any 'officail' confirmation yet....it doesn't change the lack of meaningful info, but you do feel better!
