I only know of two but there's probably more. They are a ways away, but that depends on your desperation. In Knoxville, there's the Katch which is OK. The Mouse's Ear is a better deal but not a classy joint. I doubt there is anything close by.

[EDIT] I guess I answered that with a little too much authority on the subject. For someone who doesn't live there anymore. Once a Phreak ... well ....

+1. But if its fair weather and NOT late, you have to go to the park via the northern entrance (go EAST on I-40 rather than WEST towards Knoxville). West is decently faster, but East is a ridiculously awesome drive. Even after 14 hours I am glad I went the northern route than the southern route. Two lanes wide, divided highway with insane turns, tunnels, etc. If you do, you get road below. No, it is not the Dragon (you would be on the Dragon the other way), but you will be on the Dragon for a few days so might as well mix it up!

Tail of The Dragon. 11 miles, 330 turns. I AM PUMPED!!!

For most.....the only running will involve hops and barley exiting the following day.

I know... but really it would be so cool! Its way to short for a cyclist. But it would be grueling and fun for a runner! I just wouldnt dare run that road unless it was closed lol

Registering gets your name in for any event you are interested in. It does not have anything to do with the resort. You can go in/out as you please.

If I understand your question, registration gains you access to all activities all weekend long, both on and off site. There are some organized driving events that will take you off site as well. The only thing basic registration does not cover is the car show, which has a $10 add on charge.

Thank you. Fontana is the host facility. Almost every activity is based on Fontana proper or started from Fontana proper. But they are just the facility we are one of the many attractions there.

That looks pretty sick, I might have to roll in from that side this year. I would like to get out and see if I can get on the blue sky highway for a bit while i am in the area.

It definitely wears you down depending on your ability and rate of travel. The simplest of suspension setups makes a word of difference too. I had been on "NE Mountain Runs" prior to my struts and springs and they made a difference for sure. Feels more solid, and less roll.

I don't know how hard you have driven your Z, but imagine riding a hair pin turn (that are all banked in your favor btw) at good enough clip that you have to turn the wheel complete upside down. Doesn't make sense or seem to crazy to you? Wait until you do it.

We'll definitely be making that drive again this year. That route kicked *** even in the rain.

There are a couple of tracks I go to you twist the wheel that hard, Barber, and Talladega come to mind.
